It was fine imo but calling it a game is quite a stretch. You could literally not touch your controller or keyboard the entire game and it would be 95% the exact same experience.

It’s basically like watching a mini series dvd set and instead of picking cut lines or alternate scenes from a menu you do a trivial pass/fail instead.

In the opening of FF7 you are part of terrorist organization trying blow up parts of an energy company that is destroying the planet.

The entire game is basically going place to place and learning about how every single character was victimized by Shinra. Even the main antagonist Sephiroth is a victim of Shinra. I think many people gloss over the fact that while yes Sepriroth is the main antagonist, Shinra really is the true villain, but I digress.

Personally I don’t care for the remakes of FF7 because I feel like the tone is all off for a game that was originally bleak as fuck.
