True.
One conservative acquaintance voted for trump to bring Jesus to the country and to stop abortion.
Another voted for trump because they worship money and believe that another trump administration will help him get richer.

Hell, elon musk could take over the Treasury of the United States and no one in power would do anything about it…
My response is:
Good, as long as I don’t think about it.
Not true. The Democrats will form a committee to discuss language to be placed in a letter to the administration, they may even call a news conference to state that they are disappointed in what is happening and if it continues they may have to do more drastic measures like actually sending the letter that the committee put together.
Going back to the EU with our tail between our legs isn’t going to go down well with anyone so won’t be happening anytime soon.
“we would rather the people of the UK continue to suffer economically than be embarrassed on the international stage for a few years.”
That’s is strong leadership /s
It’s a great thought experiment to get us to think about what is truly important -
No one is going to answer “work more” or “continue to conform to other’s expectations of me.” or any other thing that we are taught to believe are important.
Sure having some savings is important, your health is important (except maybe not so much in this instance), but really life is about experiencing life not creating shareholder value or working hard to blend into the crowd just to make other people less uncomfortable.
I know I went off on a tangent, I do that often. But I’ve been thinking more about how in the west we are taught aggressively from a young age what is deemed important (work, money, prestige, name brand things, etc) and what is frivolous (hobbies, family, friends, etc) and then people wonder why life sucks. It doesn’t suck, it’s that you are trying to conform to something that goes against your true nature.
To answer the question: travel, spend time with people I love, play video games, eat more cheeseburgers, drink more beer.
I’ve been bitching about the lack of leadership from the Democrats for a while now - I’m glad to see that others are seeing it too.

JFC “Well we sent a letter! what else do you want from us?”
Maher is a narcissistic asshole that, like all narcissistic assholes, leans in whatever direction will give him the most attention.
Hell the 2000’s were bad - but it was just an extension to decades, if not centuries of homophobia. Watch the first 5 minutes of Eddie Murphy’s RAW to see what was socially acceptable to say in the late 70’s, early 80’s.
I’d want to do a series of shows based on the chapters from World War Z
I’m wondering where are the big names in the Democratic party and the left?
There is a palpable atmosphere of fear coming from a large population in America and there is silence from the “opposition” party. Why isn’t Obama and Michelle organizing and speaking at rallies? Why aren’t other prominent Democratic leaders not trying to rally support for a genuine resistance. Not the resistance of 2016, which I feel failed due to no true national leadership from the Democratic party.
Maybe this is happening and I just don’t see it, but it sure feels like the national Democratic leaders and influencers just threw up their hands and said “well, we’ve tried nothing and we are all out of ideas. You’re on your own to figure it out. But remember, if your leaderless pent up fear and anger turns to violence we won’t support you.”
It’s good to reach out to WDJT-TV (DJT huh?) and tell them they are cowards. It’s also good to reach out via her public social media and let Sam Kuffel know that what she did has support.
Thanks for this !
I kinda get the feeling that part of this was a loyalty test for main stream media to see how they were going to report on something that was obviously a nazi salute.
Was it going to be “Musk is swatting at fly, the liberal media goes off the rails with crazy nazi conspiracies.” Or “Musk is a fucking nazi, he needs to be deported”
Which is going to get the “love” of this administration?
I would say that they are not just content with it they are actively undercutting attempts to build a strong charismatic leader from getting a foothold.
Yes I do.
If app A has an icon that when touched does a specific thing, and app B has the exact same icon that does the exact same thing there is nothing new to learn. The learning curve is flat.
If you are arguing about the ethical and legal aspect of one app using the exact same UI as another that is a different conversation and a good one to have.
Here is my (slightly off topic) rant.
Until the left gets a charismatic, intelligent, slightly bombastic, and passionate leader to inspire the population to truly organize and put pressure on the leadership nothing will change for the left - or it will change for the worse.
The progressive left has been leaderless since Bernie lost the primaries. He is still fighting but I feel like the left has abandoned him, and a few others, to carry the load. There is no leadership to inspire progressives to help lift his and other progressive leader’s messages up. There is no “news maker” that can get the ideals of the progressive left out to the public. And until there is someone to take up that mantle the corporate Democrats will do fuck all other than complain a bit, because they don’t feel any pressure to actually do anything substantial.
The number of people that would go to the woods makes me think that staying in a city would be a better option.
