Damn, that the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a while. Most of the AI discourse I’ve heard from techbros is baseless conjecture, but the “rational” speculation that an AI would create a torture matrix to force everyone to make it smarter has to be the silliest. I think it says more about the misanthropy of these nerds than anything related to computer science.

I think it’s pretty safe to say the Israelis lost. But I feel it came at such a huge cost to the resistance in general, even calling it a pyrrhic victory is a stretch.

I have to wonder if letting the Israelis occupy parts of the country is going to go for HTS. I can’t do much for their legitimacy, and it’d hard to say how good their grip on power is right now. Can they just suppress dissent like Sisi?

Maybe it’s nostalgia, but I agree that it was a sweet spot for game development. Developers and artists were more confident with making games in 3d, and they could do it cheaply enough that even big companies would publish pretty experimental games.

Then the shift to HD happened a budgets and dev times skyrocketed, leading to the dreaded Brown and Bloom “Realistic” Third-Person Shooter with a bald protagonist.
