That’s an unknown, but welcome change. My experience for protonvpn was cludgy because you effectively had to run another service to spin and update qbittorrent’s port whenever it changed. Happy to see some form of baked in support for it now.
I have a palma, and I enjoy it, but don’t use it as often as I should. I had intended it to be what I carry around with me more than my phone, to help restrict myself to mostly e-reader or podcasts/audiobooks. The palma 1 annoyingly would output only when the screen was on by default, so you couldn’t lock it and listen to an audiobook. If you muck around in settings you can make it stay on for 1 hour after locking, so you can mostly listen to audiobooks/podcasts uninterupted ifyou turn it on briefly every so often.
But in my experience, the use of Bluetooth/playing podcasts/audiobooks pretty drastically increased battery consumption. It really brought it back to being a phone battery (e.g. 1 day) with an eink display.
So I use it almost exclusively as a small e-reader I can always have in my povket or bag, etc. I basically always listen to podcast songs my phone.
That said, it is actually pretty incredible little device, and you can watch youtube videos or even play games on it of you let its refresh rate go high

I’ve also been enjoying Kate. It’s a decent text editor, but the ability to Ctrl + / to pipe selected lines through any Linux command (Uniq, shuf, etc) is a bit of a superpower for an editor
I love flexibility with regex, personally I use ugrep as it also allows utilization of boolean and/or/not logic for more complicated searches.
Do you have experience with either ranger, lf, or yazi? I’m wondering how broot compares. Big fan of file ranger, and this looks very similar.

I don’t use the Word replacement but I do use Calc (excel replacement). I very often want to run calculations or chart a bit of data and use Calc for that. Yeah I could use Google sheets, but every time I want to use it I have to go get my phone out to MFA. Far easier to just type “calc”.
I do not use any other features of LibreOffice.
At work I use the standalone power point and excel. I am not collaborating 99% of the time, and Microsoft Office has mechanisms for collaborating & sharing if I do. Using the browser always feels second class with some options moved or hard to find. Of course YMMV.
I really like Symfonium. I’ll second giving it a check.
I love using it for Navidrome & offline caching, and it’s nice because it does offer some casting capabilities internally.
Im not terribly familiar with the HW keys; Are you able to get multiple keys? I would worry that it would be similar to TOTP, in that if you lose/misplace/don’t have the device then you would be locked out.
And I probably wouldn’t switch banks for it, it would depend on how much more secure I perceived it and any other bank differences.
I agree, it’s not a perfect system. Even if you do have multiple devices - you may be locked out if you lose your phone while traveling, can have multiple failures.
Although I don’t know what is remotely secure and is elderly friendly. Email or SMS 2FA would have been the closest in mind, but it’s not secure, and plenty of elderly struggle with both.
You can use TOTP with multiple devices. For example with an app on your phone and something like KeePass on your laptop/desktop.
Still not convenient since you don’t walk around with this in your pocket - but it doesn’t have to be just one point of failure.

It doesn’t help if folks are iOS, but perhaps ludicolo@lemmy.ml could set up a file sync server (e.g. nextcloud, etc) that syncs the files to their phones, and then an app like this could be used to pick images?
Or maybe there’s a way to set it up to read from a WebDAV mount point either in application or through Android?

I would say an image archiver like Hydrus might be suitable for an individual, but I don’t think it would have anything for your multiuser use-case.
I am curious if any popular keyboards accept custom gify/etc replacement URLs. It’d be pretty slick to set up Heliboard or Futo keyboard with an integrated self-hosted gify
Can have a shared power envelope and naturally shares heat dissipation - which can both be limiters to simultaneously making full use of integrated graphics & CPU as well, even if the integrated graphics were powerful enough for gaming.

Is port 6881 something unrelated? I think only local ports go there (e.g. your webui)
obviously make sure you set the forwarded port in qbittorrent, then maybe try some external tool like ipleak.net which can give you a magnet link you can put in qbittorrent to see the reported geo location. Not sure if that perfectly vets the port you intend to use, though.

If you attach to your docker as you launch, you might see some helpful output from either qbittorrent or gluetun (I think the “-it” flags
