That period between 2002-2006ish when everybody was flexing their best water shaders, I figure many games chose a tropical island theme to show off their new tech, made for a memorable vibe

This especially, with regards to how Hexbear often criticizes Breadtubers or whomever, seem to expect these creators to drop everything and start making hyper-specific reviews of obscure theory or something that’ll accrue generously 1k views and be absorbed by absolutely nobody. Unfortunately I think Social media isn’t going to serve the cause in any meaningful way since it’s largely devoted by their owners to avoid that kind of thing, since people click on the digestible videos that interest them.
The eternal problem of FPTTP voting, of which Canada suffers, is nobody has anything to vote FOR, only against. Thus why Poilievre is gonna be the next PM, not cause people love him or the conservatives, really, they’re just the opposition party so people will vote for them to punish the Liberals but ofc, due to FPTTP, this just results in a sort of seesaw elections where people vote whatever the opposition of the time happens to be.
Watched this a few days ago, was a compelling story
We run the corpo pop trends now old man!
I’ve heard it called the “millenial woop music” and it has never left my mind ever since. Just groans and moans over the most saccarine 4 chords.
Does the events in Syria count as “low scale border conflict erupts” space? Feels like up until like a month ago Syria was pretty calm, probably doesn’t count for border conflict really unless you get into the weeds of who’s supporting whom.
Likewise theres been a few natural disasters like Plinky said. Sheesh the bottom left corner was logshots lol
Counterpoint: we shouldn’t concern ourselves with those types, and in fact infuriating the treatlerite shopper who would be so mad is more constructive than letting them experience their consumerist bliss, I think
Oh thats brilliant
Also, why is there the symbol for Christ on a moneybag, is that supposed to be the Vatican or something?
I dunno, those little Z’s on the tiny missiles and minarets? I see where you’re coming from but I feel like AI wouldn’t have figured that out, there’s too much authorial intent here. I don’t detect enough nonsense blob for me to think that, but maybe they generated the original then fixed it in photoshop.
Jesus, mods really power-tripping still, hate to see it.
Besides whats in that video, not really. The cracks were starting to show for a while, though, for those of us who followed; Matt was not really giving much energy in the podcast, he seemed pretty checked out in particular and wanted to do something besides LP, as we see in his new channel “Wha’ Happun’” which is a drastically different kind of format. Pat and Woolie (pictured) are still friends, and business partners, and keep up basically the podcast 2.0 called Castle Super Beast, which is a general gaming news podcast with an emphasis on fighting games as well as their own channels.
The day your favorite youtubers favorite youtuber dads broke up. It was a sad day for Canada, and of course, the world.
Exposing my ass as a raised catholic, but Prince of Egypt, Dreamworks premiere animated feature about Moses. It managed to humanize the story by grounding the conflict between Moses and his brother the Pharoah, playing up the pseudo-historicity of a christian story that features a lot of literal magic. The songs were bangers, and the cast was absolutely stacked. I also liked a lot of the meta-religious elements as well, such as when the burning bush talks to Moses, it’s just the voice of the actor playing Moses, giving it this sorta ambiguity as to how real it might be.
That we dared to listen to the podcast and critique it’s contents, and not just lavish praise on every episode Will decides they’re going to just be lazy and read their twitter mutuals bullshit tweets for an hour lol. I still remember that post OP references, with Will personally logging on to tell people to “just don’t listen, then” in a huff.
They really didn’t like redditors, with generally good reason. That they had a section of the fandom they didn’t have much influence over, like on twitter, seemed to get under their skin especially.
I remember the Saboteur, it was part of that period where if you bought the game firsthand it came with a 1 time use code unlocking certain content, to deter secondhand purchases. The content for the Saboteur was uncensored titties in the burlesque shows you could visit lmfao.
I’ll bring up Alpha Protocol, the janky secret agent rpg, it wasn’t particularily good, but I remember playing it.
