Agree. With the extent of polarization we have there is very little that isn’t political and it’s depressing.

Social security is calculated off of your 35 highest earning years. The above practice would certainly screw the vast majority of people out of social security money.

Honestly a lot of work is just busy work to keep people off the streets.

But almost all professors know an incredible amount about some ass and/or some hole, just not the specific ass and hole that it would be practical to know about.

There are folks who are caring for elderly parents who themselves can’t or won’t move. Similarly there are folks caring for sick friends and relatives. There are folks who don’t have the resources to get out of the state while at the same time supporting their minor children. There’s no need to place blame. Better to look for solutions.

This is a good take. There is also a fair bit of luck in physical and mental health, and having a good environment growing up where you can learn all of the skills that aren’t taught in school. When I went through school the emphasis was on learning the facts and working hard… Neither of which are the top skills needed to make money.
