  • My Rotring 600 mechanical pencil, my Canon 2000 film camera, and my TI-36x Pro calculator.

    • When it come to writing, I have never used a smoother implement, nor one that is constructed of such robust materials. For a long time I used a “nicer” mechanical pencil from Tūl, but does not compare to the Rotring.
    • My Canon film camera is old and not a particularly fancy model, but it takes excellent photos and perfectly exemplifies the authentic emotion of film photos. I use it when I go on adventures with my friends, and the photos are always fun and genuine.
    • I have tried a dozen different calculator apps, and none of them are as efficient to use as a physical calculator. It does what I need to without the feature cramming that calculator apps suffer from.

  • Internet says an average adult breaths 12 - 20 time per minute. Assuming 20 breaths per minute, that comes out to $144,000 dollars per day(5¢ × 20 breaths × 60 minutes × 24 hours)

If you’re dedicated, you can walk 20,000 steps in a day. It’s not easy, but it’s achievable. This would yield $5,000 per day.

For perspective, if you were smart and chose the $144,000 per day, it would take you 19 years to earn your first billion and 4563 years to have as much money as Jeff Bezos.

  • I do several things in conjunction.

    1. I plan when I need to go sleep using either sleepyti.me or wakeupti.me and set my alarms accordingly. Setting your alarm to align with your sleep patterns makes the act of waking up much easier.

    2. I set my phone on my desk away from my bed. The reasoning is two-fold; it forces me to get up and out of bed to dismiss my alarm(This works extra well if you make it a habit to get dressed as soon as you’re out of bed.), and it prevents me from laying in bed while playing on my phone.

    3. I wake up at the same time every day. Consistency is paramount managing sleep.

    4. I only sleep in my bed. I don’t do anything else. This builds an association to automatically get sleepy when you get in bed because the only thing you in bed is sleep. Your brain knows what to expect and just does it. Sort of like how some guys get excited when they see their girlfriend tie her into a ponytail.
