  • Thank you for the lengthy write up. You see though the problem with watching it all is I’d be watching it all… I do appreciate the time it must have taken for this reply though.

That clip on YouTube you linked was super cringe. Agree with you on TNG there’s definitely times and episodes where I think the writers phoned it in and I’m not going to pretend it’s all good. Still my favorite star trek but I don’t watch much so that’s not saying anything considering I haven’t even seen any of the new stuff.

You don’t get to be the apex predator spread around the whole world without a love for violence ingrained deep inside the species hearts.

So, agree more or less. But also I think the desire can be nuanced, like personally I don’t want to just commit random violence but I do wish some folks would get hurt or killed. I think it’s like that for most of us.

  • Man I called that, along with probably a ton of others, from the very first episode. Still, the writers did such a good job with it I was not disappointed that the very obvious twist indeed was the twist.

Also for some reason, not sure if it’s just my app (Sync) but your spoiler tags didn’t work right. Idk why you have >!spoiler and not just >! Like if it’s my app making it display wrong or that breaks the tag beats me.

Could also, maybe more likely, be the end tag being --!< That might fuck up the syntax.

Lol thinking DEI is somehow parallel to authoritarianism is hilarious.

You might want to work on your reading comprehension if this is the lesson you learned. Making sure a company has a fair and unbiased hiring process or representation of minorities or fair pay and equal equity for stakeholders that are people of color or women, etc etc is a very far cry from some sort of broad wealth redistribution.

  • Admittedly not having read the article but I think the idea for the AI is not really to stop or alert anyone to an active school shooting. Maybe it could give a little heads up depending on how the shooter starts.

I think the bigger idea is for it to pick up firearms a kid might flash or have brought in to show off or otherwise brandish but not use at the time. That way you can intervene before a gun gets used but that’s just my theory.

Agree on society though, it’s very obvious the proliferation of firearms and ease of procuring one is a huge contributor to school shootings and gun violence in general. God forbid we try to rein that in. Let’s just treat guns like cars. I have to get a license to drive a car because of how easy it is to kill myself or others with an automobile. When I turn 18 I can go buy an AR-15 with a simple run through a fed background check - maybe not even that, depending on the state and where you buy it - and waltz out the same day with a tool specifically made to kill people. No training, no oversight, no lessons just here’s a tool to kill other humans and have fun!

How does that make any sense?

  • Liberal land is filled totalitarian anti-gun policies

Hate to break it to you but just wanting some good gun law reforms does not make liberal land bereft of guns.

Lots of liberals own firearms. It’s just not something we conflate our whole personality around but plenty of people are here who are armed antifascists. Even if they won’t call themselves antifa because trump and maga turned that into something it isn’t.
