It always fascinates me. Many groups for political stuff. Yet a group for a few laughs has political stuff.
yes that’s how I would calculate it

This is what the percentage is for this post. Posting this in case anyone is curious as to the percentage in agreement. Reddit groups that have a “flair” policy do not stop you from up or down voting a post.
How am I defending reddit. I made an observation. Is my comment untrue?
I would agree that there are some Lemmy groups that are ban happy. Or they remove posts that they don’t like. No problem. I just move on from those groups. Mods on Lemmy or other social media platforms forget 2 things. They are doing it for free. It’s not like they are on a paid mission. And secondly they are just reducing the traffic to their group.
Can you at least agree with me that your eyes were immediately focused on the necklace?
If anyone is directing comments to OP - don’t bother. I just posted the video for discussion
I initially appealed and was rejected. I just moved onto other social media and spending less time with it in general. But about a month ago there was a discussion in this group regarding the move to free speech initially on X and then on Facebook. There was speculation that reddit would stop being so heavy handed with their bans. So after 2 years I appealed again. Said the required I promise not to break the rules, and the next morning I was up and running again.
Most, but not all, groups on Lemmy actually allow free civilized discussion. And bans on Lemmy are hardly ever permanent. Reddit should learn from Lemmy.
Made me laugh
From the article - “The situation on the site has grown so severe that it drew the attention of the Department of Justice, which appears to have pressured Reddit to take action.”
This is how “ask reddit after dark” a NSFW group discussed it
You point is best illustrated by how reddit vs. Lemmy treated the murder of that insurance guy
Your comment reminded me of something. After they finally unbanned me I went to see what was up in some of my favorite groups. I went to the mod list and literally half of them, though still listed, were permanently banned. Why are they banning the people working for free for them?
Don’t appeal directly from your account. If you do a search you will find a general appeal link. Then you fill in your user name and make your appeal
I mentioned it in this group before - was just like you. 10 years. 3Million in Karma. Perm Banned. After 2 years of being banned I appealed and was reinstated.
What makes you think it was an Admin and not just a mod of the group?
You missed the point. Calling for violence is wrong and it doesn’t matter who does it. Everything in life shouldn’t be viewed from a political lens.
How many times have you sat through 2 red lights because a clown in front of you didn’t move when the light turned green because they were jerking themselves off with their phone?
Good point that those NOT in an affected state DON’T realize. For example if you are in Florida there is no more Pornhub, Xhamster, etc. Unless of course you are dumb enough to submit a picture ID to those sites for verification. If you add to that social media purges of porn then those affected are basically in a no porn environment. Of course some would make the argument that it’s a good thing. But these are people not hurting anyone. They want to see some porn. What’s the big deal?
thank you
