it’s important evidence that will be ignored during his confirmation hearing
Lmao I wish this wasn’t 1000% true
Right? How is this even a blip on the radar. Dude has been spouting this and even crazier crap for a good while in podcasts and speeches and stuff. Are we supposed to be shocked when he does it in private emails too???

Mr. Sergio Gor Director of Presidential Personnel The White House
Dear Mr. Gor:
I am writing in response to your email sent to me and other Inspectors General earlier this evening wherein you informed each of us that “due to changing priorities, your position as Inspector General . . . is terminated, effective immediately.”
As Chairperson of the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), I recommend that you reach out to White House Counsel to discuss your intended course of action. At this point, we do not believe the actions taken are legally sufficient to dismiss Presidentially Appointed, Senate Confirmed Inspectors General.
Specifically, based upon the 2022 amendments to the Inspector General Act of 1978, the President must notify Congress 30 days prior to removal of an IG and provide “substantive rationale, including detailed and case-specific reasons” for such removal. 5 U.S.C. § 403(b), as amended by the section 5202(a) of the Securing Inspector General Independence Act of 2022 (Title LII, Subtitle A, of P.L. 117-263, 136 Stat. 2395, 3222). The requirement to provide the substantive rationale, including detailed and case specific reasons, was added to better enable Congress to engage on and respond to a proposed removal of an Inspector General in order to protect the independence of Inspectors General.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at Hannibal.Ware@sba.gov. Sincerely,
Hannibal “Mike” Ware CIGIE Chairperson

She’s in a tough spot because she dislikes a lot of what the Democratic party is doing and also refuses to even meet with lobbyists let alone take their money. To a ton of everyday people these are very good things but to either of the parties this is an enemy to the party that doesn’t have the firepower to win an election. Of course, I would absolutely love to be wrong on this but history (especially recently) is not on her side.
You make a good point but I think you are severely underestimating the amount of terminally online people around the country (and world). Obviously if you go outside of your echo chamber you will see other perspectives… I don’t think anyone would question that. The problem is many many people rarely go outside that circle and will in fact actively avoid going outside that circle. And you’re right again that lemmy is diverse in it’s userbase but to say that it’s not very heavily leaning to one side of the political spectrum and liable to become an echo chamber for many is pretty disingenuous imo. I mean just look at this thread.
Now Im not saying you are doomed to become some wacko sycophantic nutjob from an echo chamber. But you will undoubtedly only get certain sides of stories that may very well shape your points of view. It’s just something to be aware of is all.
I’m like 95% sure he used this exact tweet like a few years ago. I could’ve sworn I saw all of these stupid puns before.
Im wary of echo chambers and it’s so incredibly easy to find yourself in them nowadays. It’s always good to be around dissenting opinions and have discussions with the other side. Obviously there’s a limit with hostility and all that but assuming civility it is pretty much always better to not be completely surrounded with people that think just like you.
100% and you gotta do some Olympic gold medal level mental gymnastics to even entertain any other possibility imo
I mean it just doesn’t matter what it was “supposed” to be. How many times have we seen things that are sooort of close to the nazi salute so people are like “hey better not do that.” And this is stuff that’s like basically just anything holding your hand in the air. This was straight up the salute lol I mean there’s no two ways about it. The question is what the intention was. And if it wasn’t intended to be some sort of nod to Nazism or fascism or something, why in the flying fuck would you do it?! lol I mean everyone in the literal world knows it would prolly be a bad idea to do anything like that but the self proclaimed Uber genius, smartest man in the world, ultra mega mastermind, God gamer musk… It just slips his mind?
Dude… How many times are you going to post this same thing lol
That’s a good point I think but I’d argue that’s kinda a recipe for an asshole. Especially if you think you’re always right and everyone else is stupid. Not that I think that’s really the case with burr (I mean he can definitely be a bit of an ass sometimes but who isn’t) and I don’t have much of a problem with him at all but I think you’re description kinda only makes a person conditionally not an asshole 😄
The age of social media dying is tight!
I enjoy assassin’s creed type games and I know this isn’t a hot take or anything but man are those games bloated with boring ass time waster side quests. Starts to feel like a job after a bit and I hate it. I really wish they would just focus on a solid core campaign story and leave the billion little errands on the cutting room floor. But I get that some people love just hunting stuff down and checking them off a list so idk. Just feels like they’re focusing more on maximizing the time you’re playing the game rather than just having fun playing it.
Pshhh Putin stays in power cause the people love him. He won with 88% of the vote! And if you’re going to sit there and tell me that Russia of all places didn’t have a fair and free election, well, that’s just like, your opinion, man.
His dad recently saying how proud he is that elon is finally embracing his family’s political leanings and then immediately talking about there’s a long history of Nazis in the family is just hilarious
There are a lot of situations out there where people, myself included, say one thing but when it comes down to it, they’d do the same thing if given the chance. I try to be cognizant of that but this is one time where I can absolutely say I wouldn’t be in that situation. I’ve turned down jobs for much less. Granted I wasn’t offered anywhere near the kind of money this jagoff was making but money isn’t a factor when it comes to something like this.
“The new Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach.”
He was never for free speech. Just claimed he was and somehow people ate it up just like they always do with everything else he claims. He said this less than a month after buying Twitter btw.
Trump’s administration has made it abundantly clear that the are not stopping the freeze. This is directly from Trump’s press secretary after they rescinded the order
