  • I work with someone like this but it’s over Teams.

Last time she called, I had an idea. I said “I know you’ve got lots on, and I can go on a bit, so I’ll be quick.” It didn’t work.

She’s lovely and I don’t want to hurt her feelings, but I’m swamped so having a long conversation about stuff that’s not work isn’t an option.

  • Can we get this man some help. Not saying he’s not an absolute wanker - that’s a given - but isn’t anyone close to him concerned about his mental health?

He’s fallen out with the leader of the far-right Reform UK now, because, apparently that frog-faced fuck Farage does have a line in the sand (at least for appearances’ sake), and isn’t comfortable with Musk’s support for fascist thug “Tommy Robinson”.

Hopefully this means no donation (bribe) to Reform UK, but I’m sure that piece of shit will continue to try and fuck with our democracy.

  • Thank you. I’ve done a web chat with RSPCA and let them know the concerns. I need to find some more details if we need to take it further.

But, I can report that the person I saw delivering the stuff may not have been going to her, as I saw them come and visit a different house. NDN still thinks she will try and obtain animals though, so we are staying vigilant.

I feel this. I have adapted very well to small talk and kid talk, but veer off this and I realise how little I have in common with other parents. I even work in a field that should be full of lefties, but I can only think of one person there I can have these proper conversations with.

Luckily my neighbour is more on my wavelength when it comes to billionaires. Actually had a conversation today that went to cursing their existence within minutes. Can’t remember what started it!

Per the article posted in the comments, this is a new-build. In the UK, 90% of them are built in the same style that uses a lot of traditional features.

I do agree with the old homes being awkward though. Our staircase is straight, but narrow and very steep. The house itself was probably well built, but the decades of renovations made to it are not necessarily well done. We’ve found that we’ve had to strip rooms down to the brick and dirt floor to do it properly.
