Can I ask what context you hear it used in?
Can I ask what context you hear it used in?
Exactly. Though crusades have been broken on launch basically every time, so it’s possible he’s just trying to be transparent about his war planning capabilities.
3 per year. 10 per lifetime. To my understanding that’s been the standard since a limit was introduced.
That part is actually by design. The thought being that if you lose it that it will be more likely to be naturally destroyed than have the time to be found by someone with nefarious aims.
The 10 max rule (which allows for exceptions) was from 2004 when presumably they assumed most people did not have reason to be walking around with theirs all the time. I don’t know why it was put in place, other than a cursory search seeming to be antiterrorism bs, but 10 is kinda a lot for a document you generally don’t need to carry with you and don’t need very often in general. Probably super difficult for people that struggle with housing though.
It might just be my experience, but I’ve seen the cozy game genre be very lgbt friendly. Would be interesting to explore the reasons for that.
Also, of note is the way some games have been updated to be inclusive. The Sims 4 allows basically any combination of produces milk/impregantes/become pregnant/masc body type/femme body type/pronouns/voice/clothes. It also allows poly relationships and different romantic and sexual interests. The interesting thing to me is the fact that gendered language was still used in certain places for a long time after those updates. “Birthday boy/girl” was a particularly egregious one for nonbinary sims. It is interesting to see all this effort put in on one end and then when they dropped the ball elsewhere, there was no change for a long time. Is this indicative of just performative behavior or oversight? Looking into the community response etc might be interesting. It always struck me as so strange to basically have this super inclusive framework completely undermined by something that could take a jr dev less than a minute to fix.
Thanks for letting me know. I watched that and ended up watching the rest of the video. It was actually a pretty fun watch.
Me when Jews fled Germany. Me when people flee South America. Me when people flee war torn countries. If people (who didn’t vote for this) can leave, I hope they do. It hasn’t been our country in a long time. Individuals deserve the liberties guaranteed to them by the constitution and if they can no longer find that here and are able to find it elsewhere, they should. There is not enough will here to change things. Throwing yourself at the wall of fascism is a great way to die needlessly. No one should be obligated to die because of the failings of the government they happen to live under. If we had the numbers and could do something, maybe I’d understand your perspective, but we don’t have the numbers, and we live in a surveillance state the likes of which history does not have an analogue for. Our government has cameras everywhere and is able to track our every conversation. People here believe this is the will of god. There’s no quick fix for that and I don’t think people that will be actively hunted down in the meantime have any obligation to stay.
Yea, to my understanding Tesla does not use LiDAR and that’s the issue. They just use cameras I think. Other people posted videos in this thread: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IQJL3htsDyQ
I can’t be bothered to care/watch anything Tesla related, but apparently the lack of lidar is the thing being tested.
I hope people stand firm about letting republicans deal with their own issues. I have R family that are not welcome in my home. I have D friends that I would gladly let stay with me. I don’t think it’ll matter, but no quarter for Rs imho. I’m sure the government will find a way to just keep checks going to people registered R, or open places for them, or force dependent status or something, but no one should open their homes to them. If the government is hostile to me, I can at least make my home hostile to them.
It’s somehow worse than the title suggests. People should read the article. I am getting sick of saying that, but each awful thing being done recently has so many implications that just can’t fit in a title.
As you note, they’ve never been good for either the economy or farmers and that hasn’t stopped them yet. I fear very little will change.
I’m arguing against the idea that the left hasn’t been preaching working class solidarity for decades. You’re acting like it’s a novel concept to tell them rich people are the enemy. It’s not. It hasn’t worked because they are more interested in identity politics than actually helping themselves. Do you think those rather be Russian than a democrat shirts were a joke? It’s not about their actual interests, it’s about not being woke. They are willing to get covid or measles or bird flu and die to prove they’re anti-woke. They aren’t interested in hearing about how the wealthy hate them, because they’re too interested in hating minorities. If you wanna chat with them, enjoy, but the only way society deals with this kind of thing is by ensuring their bs never gets acceptable. We spent too much time talking to nazis and not enough time punching them and now they have the government.
For real. We need to get rid of games where 10 Red coins = 2.2 mystic gems = 1256 diamonds = 1.56 flowers and you can only buy red coin and only spend flowers and each conversion has a 1 green coin processing fee and you have to convert in that order. It’s predatory and so sad that people get duped by it.
In addition to what the other person said, you don’t want to be sabotaging people who are upholding the laws. I don’t think they’ll be getting work from Trump anytime soon, so who exactly wins if they stay and the just do a worse job defending people or prosecuting people? Maybe if they worked for Rudy Giuliani or something, but they don’t.
The left HAS been doing class consciousness for decades. I’m not sure where you are or what’s going on in your area, but it’s been happening. Compromising and shaking hands and smiling. The left does it and even the dems have been doing it (less so than the left, but more so than republicans).
Obama’s main thing was healthcare for everyone which was sorely needed in a lot of trump country. People who benefited from the program actively fought against it and are voting for people who want to repeal it. They got healthcare under a Democrat. Where’s the goodwill from that? Obama was as close to populism as we were going to get at the time (he came after BUSH - people forget that). To date, republicans think he’s this terrible guy who ruined America. Republicans openly complain about free school lunches. Free food and clinics were staples of the rainbow coalition, and we can’t get people to accept them from democrats. Sure, Bernie and Luigi get people excited, but democrats are indeed trying to help working class people. Bidens build back better plan was lambasted despite zero mention of dei or trans people (to my knowledge). Just honest to god help for working class people.
Should pride shut down for however many decades it’s going to take for everyone to get on board? Should trans people just shut up about their rights? Is that the finger wagging you’re referring to? Because I’ve been there fighting for federal minimum wage increases and women’s rights, which help deep red states more than blue states because THEY KEEP VOTING AGAINST THESE THINGS. I live in a blue state and I make above minimum wage. Me and all my friends got sex ed and have access to the women’s healthcare we need. I’m not marching for US. I’m marching for solidarity. I’m not chastising people about their dehumanizing usage of the term “hobo” because I know it’ll just derail the conversation about if the homeless should HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE. I’m there, telling them that if homeless people can’t vote then what about renters, then what about spouses or adults living at home. There was a proposal letting businesses owners vote in local elections if they owned a business in that area (in addition to voting in their home area), and I was gladly explaining to people how it gives people with money and no interest in the local area the power and takes away power from the community. And yet, here we are. Things are not getting better. No hearts and minds campaign is going to fix this.
Tell me, what do you think the left has been doing? Nothing? If so, you’re not paying attention or actually engaging in organizing. If you’re upset at the finger wagging then please explain what trans people are supposed to do in the meantime while republicans work out their feelings. Just die?
I’m not saying the tactic doesn’t work at all, but it’s not enough. It’s too little too late (though it would never have been enough). Revolution is the only way anyone in this country has gotten rights and peaceful chats over whether or not black people should be lynched in the streets again are not gonna cut it. I’d love to have a president like Bernie, but the fact is they had an opportunity to vote for someone who supported school lunches and expanding healthcare, and instead voted for someone who openly talked about closing the department of education. They don’t care. They just don’t want a dem. 2020 polling of Trump v Sanders had sanders at 48 vs trumps 44. Biden won with 51 to 46. The numbers just aren’t there to support that enough people will change.
The entire article is worth a read. I hope people read past the headline because it is a wild ride.
Why can’t people just not rape children. Like, just don’t do that. Obviously, don’t rape anybody, but holy goodness please stop raping children.
I think it’s great that the state has opened up the window for these people to find justice, but how is it that the rapists themselves are not being charged? The people and the state should be able to sue the rapists. Also, everyone that didn’t report it immediately or helped sweep it under the rug.
Some kid was put in juvie for riding a dirt bike and was repeatedly raped there. When he reported it nothing happened and he was still raped. Absolutely disgusting. What do you even say about that?
I was born here to US citizens and even I’m scared. I have an international flight coming up that was planned forever ago and I am legitimately concerned about reentry. I have a passport and have never had a problem before, but they are detaining whoever they want now. I cannot suggest strongly enough to not come here. Don’t support US companies or industries. Support trade with allies and partners that you can rely on and that will support and defend you and democracy.
Don’t tempt the US military with a good time. Killing civilians is the only thing a lot of them have field experience doing.
Totally agree. They made it sound like it was bringing an important topic into the national conversation and that’s the only reason I watched it. I’m very familiar with incel culture and I wanted to know how it dealt with those issues, and honestly, it didn’t. It was barely about the main character, much less a character study of a radicalized young boy. 2/4 episodes don’t even include him. I don’t know why people would watch it, honestly.
