Oh my god. Just found a roastery based in Hamilton that has beans for upto $65 for a 200g bag! Holey smokes. Wonder if there’s actually a big difference or not.

Interesting regarding the headaches. Been doing some reading online and it seems that some optometrists sometimes recommend a +0.5 add (very minor correction for near sight) for a lot of people that do a lot of computer work etc, to help their eyes with some of the heavy lifting. This is the exact prescription that I got so hopefully it helps.
Yeah since my test, I’ve since learned, through reading online, that a lot of people recommend those online retailers. Here’s hoping I won’t need to buy too many glasses in the future, but if I need to do so, it’s good to know these things. Plus we’re going to Japan this year, and it seems they have a lot of affordable glasses and services where you get your prescription glasses made within a few hours! None of this waiting for a week plus business lol.
Hmm that’s interesting. Do you think they just got the prescription wrong initially? Hopefully the glasses help me with my headaches lol.
This is the first time outside of being offered during school, that I had a proper eye exam done. Man didn’t realise how expensive the whole thing gets if you end up needing glasses. Don’t think I would’ve gotten tested if I didn’t have insurance.
Honestly didn’t even register that it might be eye related. Optometrist said that I could potentially move onto permanent glasses as well if I wanted (apparently my far vision is slightly off as well and I have astigmatism) but I just couldn’t get myself to start wearing glasses full time lol
I had changed the default zoom on everything from 100% down to 80% so that I could squeeze more onto my screen for work, and thought that was the reason for some of the issues, and so when I really started noticing it, I went the full other way and went to 120% zoom lol.
Still found myself squinting and things being a little blurry (though I couldn’t really say with any confidence if it was actually blurry or if Ai was getting in my own head lol - though that was confirmed today when I went for the eye exam)
I’ve always had pretty great eyesight, but have been having regular headaches and neausea midway through the afternoon when working on the computer.
I thought I’d get my eyes tested, and was told I nead some reading glasses (albeit very weak). Can’t believe I’ve gotta wear glasses now :(
Yeah 100% on that. I’d much rather have a v60, but the convenience has won out for now haha. No doubt I’ll het back to making my own soon though. I go in cycles or making my own and not lol.
I’m being so lazy these days, haven’t ordered beans in like over 2 months!
Been living off Allpresses Pods. Surprisingly decent.
Missed a whole bunch of sales on Beans over the holidays because I was too lazy lol!
Got a recurring donation to our local Cat Rescue. It’s not much but it’s a start.
That’s reassuring to hear. Thank you for that :)
How’s your new car experience been compared to previously owning used cars?
We ended up purchasing a new car (I know it doesn’t make the best financial sense, but oh well) and the dealers advised it will be ready for pickup early next week (it’s just come off the ship), and they’re asking for payment by tomorrow, which they are obviously doing so that they can get this sale in for the month.
Given that it’s a brand new car (with all the warranties etc) and that it’s due in a few business days, and that they are a very large dealership (and they’ve been decent to deal with so I wouldn’t be against helping them to get the sale in this month), is there any reason I shouldn’t? - never purchased a new car before.
Lol I didn’t even see this until much later. Seems pretty confident if anything. Brings some nice excitement especially to the middle of the pack
Hopefully Liam doesn’t go too all in on those types of antics. But he does seem to be pretty exciting so far
I may be a bit biased as I’m a New Zealander, but Perez seemed extra sensitive on the radio and the post race interviews around Liam.
As a Kiwi, it was good to see Liam Lawson show some pace, especially during the early to middle part of the race. Hopefully he gets a permanent seat at the end of the year 🤞
We’ve got a couple of hue lights inside the house and we’re always wanting to expand the collection but they’re so bloody expensive.
Seems like there’s a few different options that I’ve seen online that’ll work with Hue and Zigbee, but haven’t done enough research to know what’s best.
Yeah we’ve cut down on the number of different types we’ve planted. Gone for the ones we actually like and the good growers from last year.
We weren’t gonna do tomatoes this year either, but then decided to give the grafted ones a go. Fingers crossed 🤞
It’s great to have the NBA on again
We planted a bunch of lettuce, some chilli’s, eggplants, cherry tomatoes, zucchinis and a few different herbs.
Oh nice. Sounds like you guys are growing quite a bit of food!
Reminds me of going on a drive with my mum quite a few years back to see some whales up close on Tamaki drive in Auckland near Mission bay.
She loves whales and dolphins, and it’s a good memory I have sometimes.
