You can’t point at a qbit it just looks like a regular chip but in a fridge and everything it can even hypothetically do is boring behind the scenes nerd shit.
yes, I frequently find that tech journalism is held back by its rigid adherence to truth

Sure, that’s easy. They like it
I don’t ask for much
I wonder how much that phrase is a reflection of our joke about their worldview “good things can’t happen actually”
Biden will never be cool
You can still find similar things for CAD. The most common I’ve seen is 3dConnexio’s space mouse. It takes getting used to and there’s different software settings/profiles of which the biggest is whether the mouse manipulates the camera or the object you are looking at so if it’s not clikcing start by changing that.
I hate that I’m saying this, but it might actually be useful to have companies do this and have housing as part of a compensation package to exert some downward pressure on rent.
Realistically I know it will be terrible but I can see how it could be beneficial in our current framework/situation
I had this conversation with someone recently and while it is dumbest possible expression of this, I think that at the end of the day it is an expression of people knowing that they can’t trust companies not to poison them and they can’t trust the government to effectively regulate or enforce.
So yes some industrial/food processes are good (pasteurization being the most painfully obvious one) but people have every reason to be suspicious of what is being added to food.
I think that was the Clinton pick IIRC and this one was someone Walz?
What’s the message here? Do you think this isn’t relevant? Do you believe that people taking sick time is tanking the German economy?
Obviously none of the concepts is new, but they’re ahead of everyone else at this time.
Incremental progress while an awful political message is pretty significant in technical fields
we are all harmed by capitalism on this glorious day!
most of the time this kind of thing doesn’t bother me but the huge red circle around the only comment on a cropped screenshot is driving me batty
I get that I might be off base but it’s still not clear to me why people think Elon has a ton of power now that he didn’t previously. Trump’s presidency doesn’t translate into Elon’s power because Trump already got what he wanted and has no loyalty whatsoever. I thought it seemed pretty likely that this relationship was doomed because neither personality is able to restrain their own damaging bullshit and stay focused on their goals so why would they work well together?
I will never apologize for America
It is interesting to see this here, I’m used to seeing everyone being to jaded to believe in the rule of law. I think pretty much everyone I am used to interacting with believes that it is purely a downward pressure
I didn’t say they wouldn’t use it, just that there is no reason you would have to “negate” it. It is clearly just more computer phrenology meant to get jurors to agree to convict. It’s not like there’s a gait database tied to individuals out there
