  • I like the strat of always using your leftover echoes from level ups to buy vials. I always had a stockpile of like 200 vials in my first play through. Also if a boss was beating me a lot i went further in the chalice dungeons (not the cumgeon). Instead i often see people pop itemized blood echoes to get another level. Also harder bosses usually have some easy enemy that drops like 3-5 vials in the run back. I like Nioh’s system a bit more as it always gives you enough elixirs to bring you back up to 3 even if you don’t have any stockpiled.

I think Estus encourages non immersive play by making you rest at bonfires just to refill heals. I’ve had way more fun with demon’s souls and bloodborne because i stayed in the world and didn’t reset it every few metres. Elden Ring has a good combination with refilling flasks due to killing groups of stronger enemies but still suffers in legacy dungeons because there that for some reason doesn’t happen

So risking that i might overexplain a joke, the original is about planes: The story goes that engineers looked at planes returning from battles to see where they should reinforce their armour. The returning planes had a lot of holes in the wings and very few in the body so they were like “seems like we need to reinforce the wings” but some bloke rightly mentioned that the planes with holes in the wings returned while the planes with holes in the body did not. So most holes being in the wings was survivorship bias and the actual parts in need for reinforcement were in places they did not detect holes from the returning planes because getting hit there seemed to mean the planes wouldn’t make it back.

  • Yes there is. I’d probably never have found out about variant Sudoku without Cracking the Cryptic. I get valuable rock climbing tips from professional climbers and coaches on YouTube and employ them often successfully in the climbing gym. I learn about weird weapons from that blacksmith guy that i can use in my TTRPGs and that’s not even taking about the science channels.

Of course if you don’t curate your subscribed channels and just browse home it’s probably gonna suck and be full of clickbait

Is it “fuck you got mine” when you’re already burned out from work and your uncle that you don’t like asks you to unfuck his computer for free? You buy little pastries because you get a guest and your mom taught you well, spend 3 hours unfucking his PC that his new stepchildren fucked and all you get in return is a k thanks bye. And a few months later you get the request to unfuck his PC again and sit there like “why would I do that?”.
