An odd amount of people went to bat for the Papacy as an institution in the various threads over the Pope’s thread. Just made me think about this, but it wasn’t exactly warranted outside of that.

On a larger level would it not have caused more harm than good though? I get coalitioning when it makes sense, but active endorsement and banning criticism in c/Christianity feels farther than that.

Fair enough, I just saw some comments in the thread for the Pope’s death that really rubbed me the wrong way…
