Glad to hear I’m not the only person abusing that run dialogue box.
I’m just a cat walking on a keyboard…

The comic is about RAM, not storage. The 2600 was unique in that it had no RAM and needed to process everything in-between each scan line on the same chip.
Tash@lemmy.worldto Not the Onion@civilloquy.com•Killer captured by Google Maps while moving dismembered body in northern Spanish villageEnglish5·7 months agoWasn’t that a plot twist on a book, movie, or TV show? I swear I’ve seen that trope several times. Hide the body in somebody else’s grave before they’re laid to rest.
It’s like the next version of “beans on toast” 🤣
You gave me flashbacks of the Peter Norton and John McAfee days!

Tash@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•Has anyone else noticed that Steam no longer requires self-updates that restart the client?English401·9 months agoI’ve seen the same thing. Seems like the new behavior is to just let me login, play, and it will get what it needs in the background and automatically update on next launch.
Makes sense not to bother me to update a 0.1 release change after launch (unless it’s urgent) when I just want to play Tetris.
Isn’t this the same behavior web browsers use? Background download and update on next launch?
Not complaining, I prefer this update cycle as default.
Yeah… no. And looking at the weird framed photo in the background I think this was more for a marketing thing. Perhaps a music band the kids liked back in the day?
Or it’s AI.
I like how this is the future version of getting a send-off by the USS Constitution

Tash@lemmy.worldto CRT Gaming@lemmy.world•I was told today to take this and throw it in the trash! Now it will become a retro gaming TV!English7·10 months agoNice saving a CRT (although interesting picture quality on the other photo).
Grab a Pi 3 or similar that has proper 480i analog output and connect directly to the RCA jack like it is 1993.

The only guaranteed thing is that the players are idiots and will try and punch a NPC in the tavern on day 1… throwing your well planned story out the window.
Yes, your escrow can go up that much if your property tax, school tax, or in some cases insurance had a sudden jump in value or changes in what can be claimed. It varies by area and loan, but isn’t unheard of.
I get the joke, but did the person writing this have a stroke halfway through writing it?
I’m trying to remember when I last had a real “free trial” and not these “give me your credit card subscription scams”. A bonafide “try our thing for real” situation made me buy it.
Free food or drinks for sure. Maybe a newspaper or magazine when I was a kid?
While I don’t follow the current eSports Call of Modern War Battle shooter game, I believe they may be making fun of certain team players of said game who called themselves “Lethal Company”… but now this name is more commonly associated with a different online multiplayer indie game that is more popular.
Although I could be wrong. I am not an AI
Tash@lemmy.worldto Games@sh.itjust.works•Valorant on PS5 won’t support gyro aiming, to ensure Xbox players aren’t at a disadvantageEnglish6·1 year agoGyro support on XInput has been on PC gamers wishlist for awhile.
XInput is a solid standard (especially if you look at the state of gaming in the pre 2000’s) but it is in need of an update…
Pretty sure you have another device registered with Authenticator here, and it is asking you to verify against that.
It would be bad if somebody could just steal your username/password and then register their own MFA, right?
