Windows 10 EOL, all of the computers with hardware “unsupported” by Windows 11 will be liquidated by businesses.
Ever further than that. The ELIZA effect was first documented in 1966, detailing how humans form emotional connections with simple text prompts with the illusion of depth. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELIZA_effect)
This is merely an acceleration, and I’d expect social adoption to be an inevitable part of the future, and those who turn the keys for these platforms to carry enormous influence.
I got good news for you, come October 15th there will be a whole bunch of cheap liquidated ThinkPad laptops flooding Ebay, join us.
Finish? I thought the Linux project is forever ongoing! (/s)

(I wonder how bad the brain drain is at this point)
Might want to read up on the ELIZA effect, I don’t think everyone will have the mental willpower to avoid that scenario.
He’s not gonna sugarcoat it, ever. Hell yeah.

Truscape@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto World News@lemmy.world•Trump can pull the plug on the internet, and Europe can’t do anything about itEnglish2·3 days agoI’m currently hosed by the fact that I am in the middle of completing my Electrical Engineeing degree (approx. 2 years left), and I don’t believe my credits would be transferable to an institution across the Atlantic (never mind the cost, shudder), so I can’t even think about escaping until at least 2027.
If there’s a better way forward so I can safely leave the nation and still achieve my degree, I’m all ears, but at least to me it seems my hands are a bit tied.
Teleporter goin’ up!
