After 3 years of jumping around meds all of which did nothing. I’ve finally found one that works for me. If the meds arent working talk to your doctor about trying a different one. I’ve been on every major ssri and several iterations of combinations of them before we figured it out.

Depression != sadness. Sadness is a healthy response to external stimuli. Depression is significantly more than simply deep sadness. Deeply sad people are able to function and care for themselves/family. Depressed people don’t just struggle to be productive in a capitalist society, they struggle to be a functioning human being. It’s not just I don’t want to go do my job. It’s more about fantasizing about how amazing it would be to be dead and not have to worry about failing to do your basic self care routine.
I’m very sorry if someone misrepresented depression for you. If it was to invalidate you, I hope you are able to keep an open mind.
When did the original meaning leave? I thought woke had always meant being aware of social issues.
