Worker cooperatives prove the important but limited point that while capitalists need workers, workers don’t need capitalists. Most ‘employee-owned’ companies in the US and UK are mainly owned by the highest levels of management with some more buy-in for middle management. It’s typically done with some kind of vesting scheme that keeps junior employees on the hook for years.
These firms still exist firmly within a capitalist context and require workers to become their own exploiters.

It might be a bit of oil on the fire, but the book ‘Hinterland’ by Phil Neel does a great job of theorizing the rise of fascism in climate change induced state collapse/withdrawal.

I’m a school teacher working with mostly hispanic immigrants and I was able to have useful conversations with my students after about 4 hours of mindfully listening to the lessons.
I think musicals are mostly associated with a pre-trans/proto-trans homomasculine feminity. The type of queenery that was the expression for trans womanhood without the framework to understand itself fully or the acceptance to be fully embodied. Now, I think it’s mostly historical inertia.
—like think about Peaches from ‘Stone Butch Blues’ who the narrator refers to as a ‘drag queen’ who we would now obviously understand as a trans woman. Theater, drag, and musicals especially were a space where more expansive gender expression were possible and consequently took up a lot of gay cultural focus.
When I was on prog, I fell into a deep, sexless, and suicidal depression. It took me a long time to realize that it was principally hormonally induced and that progesterone is NOT for me. If it is safe and practical to do so, I would encourage you to experiment with decreasing or cycling your prog dosage to see if it has an emotional effect on you.
