Refuelling tests should be fun

I’m not excusing the email server, but this is absolutely worse. Planning an operation like this on unsecured phones in an app that won’t leave a paper trail and accidentally leaving an uncleared person in the chat… Holy fuck

I think what makes the most sense to me is flying Artemis 3 as planned, cancelling EUS, Gateway, and Blue Moon Crew (but keeping Blue Moon Cargo through CLPS), and starting a plan to fly some other rocket and potentially some other crew vehicle for A4+.

Hopefully not if there are astronauts on board. But they are testing a lot of things for the first time on this mission…

I still look at Alltrails sometimes to look for trails and routes. You can download a GPX track with a free account, then upload it to whatever app you want.

For what it’s worth, the last two Cygnus cargo ships had to fly on Falcon 9s because they ran out of Antares rockets.

But they have Dragon, Cygnus, and maybe Dreamchaser for cargo. Those guys wouldn’t be thrilled if Starliner started to show up as a cargo ship.

Ehhh, Falcon is still an absolute champ. But yeah, Starship development is not going according to plan and nobody will fly on it anytime soon.

The goal remains for the first flight of Tenacity this year.

SpaceX’s Starship contracts with NASA are fixed price and milestone based. So, if they blow it up, that cost is on them. Just like Boeing has had to shell out a lot of money from continuing to fail on Starliner.

Good on them. It’s late and expensive, but it’s flying now, and can hopefully help bridge the gap for European launch until one of the startups gets up and running.

I’m pretty disappointed in the last two, but the failures were both ship v2 that completely redid the plumbing. But yeah, you’d think they’d be doing better by now.
