Wow what a great tip, thank you!!
charmed_electron@programming.devto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•The alarm clock industry was collateral damage in the smartphone wars.7·4 个月前I have an alarm clock / noise machine combo and I love it. I prefer a phone-free bedroom to reduce distraction opportunities. I also completely agree that phone wake-up sounds are just far too aggressive. All it takes for me to wake up is having it change from “brown noise” to “ocean waves” and I’m awake immediately.

IIRC there was an episode where a kid has ptsd thinking he caused his ship to wreck. It comes out that while the ship was shaking he pressed his forearm up against the panel for balance. One of the enterprise crew tells him at the climax he couldn’t have messed anything up because he’s not crew or something

charmed_electron@programming.devto Lord of the memes@midwest.social•You have a problem with authority, Mr. Frodo.English8·1 年前Hah I totally whispered that line in the theater when it came out! The Matrix had come out recently so you just couldn’t unsee it.
What I love about this movie is that despite the dystopian society, the writers still have an optimistic (naive?) take on things. IIRC once the news reporter gets the evidence and the truth comes out, the evil corporation is somehow thwarted.
charmed_electron@programming.devto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•how should I tell my new trashy neighbors to keep their puppy off my property57·1 年前I second the suggestion of befriending the dog: get some good dog treats and essentially train it. Imagine the look on the neighbor’s face if everyone is outside and the dog obeys your verbal commands. Delicious!

charmed_electron@programming.devOPto I Made This (MOVED TO LEMMY.ZIP)@lemm.ee•Circuit board earrings6·1 年前There is an RGB led in the lower right, so yes if you program it to! I didn’t make provisions for battery power on this one though so it’s not meant to light up while worn. The unpopulated spot in the upper right is for the microcontroller. My wife preferred the look of the processor missing so I didn’t solder one down on hers.
charmed_electron@programming.devOPto I Made This (MOVED TO LEMMY.ZIP)@lemm.ee•Circuit board earrings8·1 年前Boards are fiberglass at their core so most cutting tools work just fine—hacksaw, jigsaw, dremel, bandsaw. It’s abrasive though so a note of caution that it will wear out cutters quicker
charmed_electron@programming.devOPto I Made This (MOVED TO LEMMY.ZIP)@lemm.ee•Circuit board earrings92·1 年前It’s kind of like a microprocessor development board—there are a few different circuits to play with that are connected to the processor. So ultimately it won’t do anything unless you stick some code inside

A keyboard is essential so it’s not mobile appropriate.
charmed_electron@programming.devto Gaming@lemmy.world•This wonderful game was designed by satanEnglish8·1 年前Isn’t this game made by the same person/group that did QWOP and GIRP? Man I miss girp that was the first and only game I tried speedrunning.
Does that top surface feel ridged? To me this looks more like an issue with either overextrusion or z offset too low than temperature.
charmed_electron@programming.devto 3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Upgrading from Cura 4.12 to 5.6 no longer heats extruders or bedEnglish4·2 年前The way that the heaters turn on and off is by using a gcode command. So my first thought is that somehow the new slicing profile is not spitting out those commands. Try comparing the generated gcode from slicing the same model in both versions and see what’s different. The temperature commands have to be at the start so should be easy to find. The gcode commands themselves are very googleable.
