  • All of this is imo, but. My biggest issue with BB is that most of the characters lack any meaningful depth; they feel like caricatures rather than real people. The writers didn’t have a long term plan for BB, and I feel like it shows in a lot of the storylines. I don’t think Walt’s character was consistent at all, which bugs me because he’s the focal point of the story.

All of these things I think BCS addressed and improved on. And again, I don’t even really dislike BB, I just think it feels like an off-brand sopranos. BCS, on the other hand, is the genuine article. I honestly think it’s one of the best shows that’s ever aired on regular cable. But I’m just some random dickhead on the internet, so who cares what I think lol.

  • I loved parks and rec, and I think that’s a super fair way to feel about it. It has a very cheesy veneer hiding some really great comedy. I think 30 Rock had the same problem, and I get why a lot of people weren’t into it. Or maybe the comedy just doesn’t resonate with a some people, idk. I liked it, but I can see why other people wouldn’t, even if I can’t verbalize that.

The movie is very loosely based on the first book. The screenwriter read it, had a dream about it, then wrote the movie based off the dream they had, intentionally never referencing the book while writing it. Which… Idk. Kinda fits the vibe of the story, but I’d love an authentic adaptation of the book, because it’s incredible.

The second book was a hard read for me, but it’s worth it to get to third, and honestly the third kind of retroactively makes the second one better. There’s supposed to be a 4th in the works I believe, but don’t quote me on that.

  • Fuck off, yankee. Like the rest of the country doesn’t have backwoods towns with morons in it too, oh no, that’s purely a southern problem. And racism? No, no, places like Ohio and Illinois and fuckin Glendale, California don’t have racist idiots, certainly.

Any problem you can find with the south can be found anywhere else in the country, y’all just like to put blinders on.

  • I lost my house in Helene, and I’m still struggling to adjust. My wife, kid, and I are cooped up in a hotel with nothing but clothes. My daughter has some of her stuffed animals, and friends have donated some toys and stuff for her, but otherwise we’re just kind of here in limbo. I don’t know how long it will be until we can get our home back together and start getting things back to normal.
