eclipse@lemmy.worldtoAsk Lemmy NSFW@lemmynsfw.com•When a guy says "sit on my face" does he really not want u to hover?English3·5 months agoI’m one of the most left wing people you will find in any overton window.
I still don’t think it’s unreasonable to say an average male has more physical strength than an average female. This is just biologically true. I’m not saying you can’t have strong women or weak men; nor did the commenter.
Fight the battles that have value and improve equity for everyone. This isn’t one of them.
EDIT: Before anyone picks up on my use of the term “biological”, I’d like to clarify I am a trans rights supporter. That is not the point at hand.
I’m from Australia.
Some spiders are absolutely bros.
Others seem to exist only to fuck you up.
Once you know the difference you’re fine, but I don’t blanket assume that every spider I find is a friend.
If you’re (sensibly) encrypting your data before sending it off site, then yes it likely makes little difference where you send it. The parent comment didn’t mention adding your own crypto however.
Further, I just personally wouldn’t trust my data to a personality like “Kim dot com”.
eclipse@lemmy.worldto Out of the loop@lemmy.world•What is going on with Wikipedia and now a bunch of people seem to hate it? What did they do to piss people off? Did they change something?4·5 months agoDidn’t realise we were using Luigi as a verb now.
I’m on board with the vernacular.
I wouldn’t touch MEGA with a ten foot pole.
I’d also argue BitWarden shits on Keepass for UX.
Mullvad has amazing privacy credentials that are third party audited.
In terms of anonymity, you can literally send them cash via post to protect your identity.
I recommend them to everyone.
eclipse@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Proton Mail says it’s “politically neutral” while praising Republican Party10·5 months agoI strongly recommend Mullvad. Exceptional performance, wireguard support and if you’re really paranoid about anonymity you can literally send them money via post.
eclipse@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Proton Mail says it’s “politically neutral” while praising Republican Party55·5 months agoEven for the technically literate, running a mail server is an ongoing nightmare. If you think it’s easy, you’re not doing it right.
eclipse@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Proton Mail says it’s “politically neutral” while praising Republican Party82·5 months agoFrom a UX perspective I disagree. 1password wins at UX hands down but Bitwarden is a very close second and IMO has better privacy guarantees.
Security is useless if it’s too difficult. Despite liking Bitwarden I am a 1Password subscriber and happy with my choice.

Children? Seriously?
eclipse@lemmy.worldto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Can somebody solve this puzzle?18·10 months agoYour comment is painful to read.
What excuses are you referring to?
Are you also arguing that if a problem isn’t in your immediate periphery then it doesn’t exist? We are all human beings, living on the same planet.
There’s nothing wrong with feeling a modicum of empathy for those less fortunate by circumstance of geography or socioeconomic influence.
Even more simply:
Government: closes their curtains in the evening.
eclipse@lemmy.worldto Data is Beautiful@mander.xyz•Percentages of british adults who found each activity involving animals acceptable or unacceptableEnglish27·10 months agoMost I understand but the opposition to “wearing clothes made from animal fur” seems a little misinformed.
Where do they think wool comes from?
eclipse@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•3 Things: What are you grateful for today?English2·10 months agoI had a similar reaction to this post title. Firstly, don’t give up. That’s the most important thing.
If you haven’t already, I’d highly recommend seeking out psychological treatment. Your attitude is not necessarily novel but a strong indicator that it may be helpful.
If you don’t “click” with the first person you see, don’t be afraid to find another.
eclipse@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What is this plug on my wall for?1·11 months agoI’d probably turn off the power first especially if I didn’t already know what was behind it and whether it is properly grounded.
It is what?
I’m dying here with anticipation.
