Will has that ability to challenge us with his fragrances. I like that he takes that level of risk.

Brush: Brad Sears Scotsman XL 28mm Super Badger
Razor: Geneva Cutlery Co. 6/8" Hollow Ground Round Point
Lather: Barrister and Mann - Marilyn - Soap
Aftershave: Barrister and Mann - Marilyn - Aftershave
Fragrance: Barrister and Mann - Marilyn - Eau de Toilette
3 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
BaM’s Marilyn is a scent that I only understood after trying the EdT. I didn’t understand how the soap scent related to Will’s description of it, nor to his motivations for naming the scent Marilyn. I bought a soap sample first, thought the scent was a “miss”, but purchased the EdT because I was intrigued, somehow. The EdT allowed me to understand what Will was going for and to find traces of the notes that I was missing in the soap. Now, this is one of my favorite BaM scents.
Such a happy Russian Bear! What’s behind the name?

I picked Seville because it shows up, along with Le Grand Chypre, on most of the Lather Logs. It’s probably just easier to skip BVWSC this month.
I like option 2. If not everyone has Tabac, perhaps there’s a soap that most of us have and that we can send to those who are geographically close in time for the first or second Wed. in April. That soap could be Tabac. However, I bet if we listed our BaM, HoM, and Stirling soaps, there’s one we all have in common. I mean does anyone not have BaM Seville?
Dave, this is just not a big deal. Please don’t let it add to the stress you already feel. We’re just a bunch of guys talking about shaving after all. There are far more important things … OK, there aren’t, but you get my point ;-)

Yes! Still trying to work that out, but I’ll let you know when I cross the pond😀
No, I missed out. I can have my son bring me a few from Paris, or I can pick some up when I visit him. It’s a bit of a bucket-list thing, but I suspect that when I have one, I’ll think, “Oh, it’s a cigar!”
Congrats on the kill! That’s a very rare event for me.

This was a test shave of my first edge from my new La Petite Blanche coticule. Since this is a vintage razor that I just purchased and have not used with other edges of mine, it was not really a fair test of a new stone. Nonetheless, I had a very close and comfortable shave. I look forward to evaluating this stone on razors that I am already familiar with.
Bon Temps Barbershop has a subtle and very pleasant barbershop scent in a soap base that is tailored for straight razor shavers. It performs brilliantly.
Tobacconist++;
My favorite HoM scent for cold weather. Cognac and Cuban cigars is a real-life dream for me. Cuban cigars are banned for sale in the US. There’s a black market here, but I don’t know how to reach it. I manage to make-do with Cognac (or Armagnac) and non-Cuban cigars, though :)
I’m bummed about Stirling too. A product line of such good quality and so vast and that has been around for a long time is somehow easy to overlook.
I have Seville, Tabac, Spiced, Entropy Man, Stag, and Valley of Ashes.
It did! Thanks!
Interesting comment considering the country where Pandas are found primarily :)
