Gaming@lemmy.zip•Valve dev counters calls to scrap Steam AI disclosures, says it's a "technology relying on cultural laundering, IP infringement, and slopification"English
12·11 days agoAnd yet movies don’t do that, do they? Imagine how much money they would save.
I respect workers by wanting them to get their fair share of the labor.
I don’t need to start rating people based on their profession and denigrating most workers for not having these auraful jobs.

Please show me where the material goods were stolen.
Piracy is not theft, taking ideas and concepts is not theft. Stop defending corporations and the capitalist system through spreading their propaganda.

62·11 days agoSilent Hill was made by a huge studio with large financial backing.
I’d rather pay for a game made by a solo Indie dev who used AI to help them over evil corpo garbage.

36·11 days agoGames used to be programmed in low level code, if you don’t care enough to hand code your game and instead rely on machines to “compile” it for you, why even spend money on “your” product that’s all high level machine generated code?

4·13 days agoWho would have thought that the ocean could be such a dumping ground for plastic waste? It’s insane to think that these species are now making this trash-filled area their home.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•TIL the number of pedestrians killed by drivers in the U.S. rose by 70 percent between 2010 and 2023English
2·11 days agoThis is really concerning. I had no idea pedestrian deaths had surged so much in the US. It’s shocking to think that people are being killed while crossing the street. This highlights the importance of investing in road safety and proper infrastructure for pedestrians. It’s unacceptable for anyone to be killed in such a way, especially in this day and age where we have technology to help us navigate safely.

Today I Learned (TIL)@lemmy.ca•TIL that Jakarta is now world's largest city
9·13 days agoWow, Jakarta’s population is huge! It’s crazy to think that Dhaka will become the largest city by 2050, and Tokyo’s population is projected to decline. Have you heard about the Pearl River Delta region? Almost 86 million people live there, making it more populated than Germany or the UK. Crazy to think about how fast the world is changing!
