35·9 days agoThe article is worth a read but to save you a click if you don’t want to: Windows 11 is the worst in all metrics. Includes startup time, RAM usage, and speed of using apps (Paint, web browser)
This is a pattern that keeps repeating: Windows 11 was last in the battery test, took longer to render a video project in OpenShot, took its sweet time opening the File Explorer window, and opening built-in applications like MS Paint left enough time to fetch a fresh cup of coffee. Not to mention Windows 11 taking the longest to open websites and scoring worst of all in single-threaded CPU-Z.

They chose the foot because the arteries and veins there are compatible with those found in the ear. The foot’s skin and soft tissue are also similarly thin to the head’s.

2·27 days agoAgreed, but if Taiwan can respond to an initial attack well enough then they buy time for their real defenses to kick in, mostly allies. It’s not a pointless statement or stance.
3·27 days agoFollowing a “dialog with Apple since early 2024,” Swiss companies now have access to iPhone NFC. However, COMCO says that the terms and conditions differ from those in the European Economic Area, and may not comply with Swiss antitrust law.
Other apps can use’s iPhones NFC for payment functionality, the probe is to see if the requirements to be able to do so are reasonable.

What are the most addictive substances for humans?
I am autistic and sometimes struggle to understand indirect statements (especially when not in-person, since there’s no tone or expressions to read). I did understand your original comment, but even now I don’t see why the second comment should be understood to exclude neurodivergent people. I’m speaking both for myself and for anyone similar to past-me who would have genuinely felt insulted but not said anything.
This doesn’t say anything about you, but yes I did assume that a stranger on the internet would insult ND people for social interaction issues. I did just join Lemmy though, so maybe that’s an old habit that doesn’t apply here. I am glad that I was wrong.
Tags are designed for clarity in general but also for neurodivergents specifically. While I can tell that you were being sarcastic, it’s possible that others may have been unable to tell.
I’m not saying that you should have put a tag on your comment, but insulting those for whom it would have been helpful is uncalled for.
3·1 month agoI just joined Lemmy! I tried to a while back but I struggled to find communities to subscribe to. I found much better tools this time and I think I’ll be staying. It’s such a relief to feel like I can upvote/downvote/interact with things without being tracked or modifying my feed. Hello Fediverse :)
