PieFed Meta@piefed.social•Hello, flood of new people!English
2·7 hours agoI had since deleted my Thriv account (and nuked everything), because I didn’t trust it’d be online for long. That’s why I chose Feddit (and an author I associate with [I also write] originally used it before I let them know about some quirks with the Lemmy instance I use). I think HAL must’ve been stressed trying to fix it, so I just made things easier for him… hopefully.

PieFed Meta@piefed.social•Hello, flood of new people!English
2·11 hours agoI was looking for a PieFed instance (since I knew about it) to sign up for, just in case, for some reason, my Lemmy account was to suddenly disappear (either by my own volition or otherwise). I had one on Thriv, but HAL had to fix an OOM issue regarding some Postgre nonsense that took Thriv offline for a few days.

Minecraft@lemmy.world•A fun colorful tower, vanilla survivalEnglish
0·2 days agoIf a rule like what’s described is used, it’s vanilla. It’s a concept called Vanilla Anarchy if I’m not mistaken.

Stop Drinking@lemmy.world•The Daily Check In for Sunday January 25th - just for today, we are not drinking!English
1·5 days agoNo need for me to drink due to autism, so I get that.
For those unaware of what I’m talking about, I heard about a study that essentially points out how easy it is for someone with autism to become an alcoholic. It’s much faster than those who don’t have it.

AskUSA@discuss.online•Have you considered emigrating from the US? If so, where to?English
1·5 days agoI did, actually. My folks and I were considering moving to Paraguay (because of similarities to the US), but others were Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and maybe a couple others.

AskUSA@discuss.online•What do you call each meal of the day?English
3·5 days agoIn the olden days, it used to be breakfast, dinner (modern: lunch), and supper (modern: dinner).
Breakfast literally means “breaking a fast”, so technically, I break my fast around once a day at most (not very often do I do twice or three times), but I do intermittent fasting.

AskUSA@discuss.online•What are You Doing to Prepare for the Next USA Government Shutdown?English
1·5 days agoShutdowns don’t even affect normal Americans that much. It only affects those who are anxious, because anxiety is fear of the future (I was anxious because I feared for the future, but also depressed because I lived in the past).

AskUSA@discuss.online•Have you noticed anyone self-censoring due current developments in politics?English
0·5 days agoIt depends on where I’m at. Otherwise… good luck getting me to censor myself.
Politics, money, and religion are usually no-goes unless someone interested asks about that.
It’s not as sad as it used to be for me, considering that I’ve gone a more high-protein, high-fat diet… and low-carb by extension.
I did SAD a lot in my youth, but dad gum it did I force myself to change that. I never get sick anymore since I fully made the switch, eliminating these:
- Gluten (wheat, rye, oats [glutenous], barley, spelt)
- Soy
- Cow’s milk (goat’s milk and/or sheep’s milk is a viable alternative for animal milk)
- Refined sugars (sweeteners that can be detrimental, and feed parasites)
- Seed oils (linoleic acid reasons)
If you do what I did, you’ll realize that’s one aspect of why you were so unwell.

Oh, and AI roleplaying (It’s actually breaking limits we didn’t know we had).
Now I think about it, there’s this video (Invidious link, obviously) that covers why addictions are a double-edged sword. It’s this one with AI slop visuals in particular: https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=TIrhcmaMZzs
