I mean, it’s a big country. I assume “Europeans who never left Europe” would be a similar percentage. I’m saying this as someone living in the EU.

I understand (even if I don’t like/agree) some downsizing, but firing everybody is a smooth brain move. Evernote was all the shit when I went to college in Europe, and MeetUp was also very popular, and now they are barely mentioned. Maybe these companies started declining before the a acquisition, okay, but then why buy them in the first place?
This is a very difficult topic, as sometimes I think the opposite end is true, where a company like mine spends a billion to develop their own solution, which is worse than anything on the market, and worse than our old systems. Executives hallucinating that they will become the next innovative tech company are also a problem, as they vacuum up a lot of resources from the market, and then everybody complains how you cannot find an architect anywhere.
I think companies should do a make-or-buy decision for each tool, and reevaluate this regularly. Of course this requires extra work, and letting go of politics (and sometimes corruption), so never going to happen.
I will put my dick away for the day, out of respect
Thank god it doesn’t have LIDAR sensors, much cheaper to repair the front this way

See, eggs might be expense, but at least we are hurting the brown people ✝️🇺🇸🦅😎

I think this is at least partially the result of intentional propaganda. It benefits the elite greatly if a lot of Americans are screaming against higher top tax rates due to this faulty logic. There are also a lot of anecdotes of people not accepting higher paying job offers or promotions within their company, which also benefits the business owners.
Great band, was my favorite as a teenager in early 2000s.
It was a dream come true when they reunited “recently”. I held tickets 3 times in my hands, but the show was cancelled everytime (covid, Zack’s injury), and now it seems like they are disbanded again, so it’s never going to happen.
Still, I saw Morello last year, he played some of these RATM riffs, so at least I have that off the bucket list.
A good way to think about it, how would society percieve them if they were hoarding anything else at this scale?
Imagine the guy having warehouses all over the world filled with toilet paper, private security around the compound, and campaign ads to reduce real estate taxes for storage units.
Or somebody having the largest lego collection in the world, constant buying out and threatening other collectors.
It’s a mental illness.
Good article. It was fundamentally not a good business model. You have to acquire new customers constantly just to keep the lights on, it’s unsustainable. Adding on top of that the experations from investors to grow every year, and the collapse we see now is guatanteed.
I see they tried to diversify, that could have helped, but without a recurring revenue stream at the core of your business, you cannot become the big company they wanted to be.
