Yeah, some people have that exploration demon in them, and wanna see the world. People were still people then, just like today.

I do think they gain big loyalty points by doing shit like this, which is a benefit for them for obvious reasons, but they lose even the smallest vestiges remaining of institutional experience. At a certain point, you’re just not going to be able to manage the networks as well when everyone in the department is some random groyper. It just won’t work the same without the patience to rebuild and manage that apparatus, and everything we’re seeing here is a lack of long term planning, so I doubt they can handle that.

AI, as in machine learning, has always had uses. Like, real useful additions to human capability. It’s very useful in pattern recognition and statistical analysis of various things.

Our more modern shit connotation comes from capitalists trying replace labor with generative AI, which is a small subset of potential machine learning uses, but by its nature sends massive amounts of shlock at us.

To be honest, war has changed quite a bit against Afghanistan. I’m sure they do have plenty of things to test. Though, this is all pointless in the big picture, as Mexico is by no means a “peer” enemy. It wouldn’t be anything like fighting Russia or China.
