Just a dimension hopping elf that gets into more wacky hijinks than I can shake My stick at!
@Tugboater203
Initially I wouldn’t recommend it, but I’ve been coming around to the idea that you should start with the first three Horus Heresy novels, because the event is so foundational to the rest of 40K.
I by no means recommend someone then go on to the other 60 books in the series, but Horus Rising, False Gods, and Galaxy In Flames provide so much background and context to what comes after.
@warhammer40k
Printer plate 5 of 7 for the torso armor just made its way to the printer
@jontree255
Excellent work! Very nice job on the edge highlights, clean.
@Apepollo11
The hero the city needs.
@GrymEdm
Haha thanks! I’m terrified to think what this would cost if there was an actual Forge World model at this scale, but so far it’s not bad - 5 spools of PLA for the FDM printer and I’m on the 4th bottle of resin for the detail parts.
@setsneedtofeed @jontree255
Fully agree on both points!
Contrast paint is a game changer, I love sponging it over a base metallic to get a really nice “aged metal” look on large panels.
@fleabomber
I’m glad that I’ve received so much positive feedback from the community. Next week’s update I’ll hopefully have some solid progress on assembling the torso.
@setsneedtofeed
Excellent job on that plasma glow!
@ALostInquirer
Possibly a hamster, but given that lab rats love driving cars it might be nice to give one of them a chance.
@erikcats @warhammer40k
Glad you’re enjoying it! I’ll keep posting project updates as I reach milestones. Next one will be when the legs are fully together with the pelvis.
And believe it or not, completely sober when I made this crazy decision!
@Smbreiland @warhammer40k
Somewhere between 2.5 and 3 feet most likely. I’ll get a full measurement once the torso is complete. I’m working on posing and epoxying the legs right now.
@jontree255
Going for a kind of xenomorph look?
@Sir_Fridge
https://www.3dgloop.com/ ? I’ll look into it, any idea what the working time is on it?
@setsneedtofeed
Fantastic work on that model!
@warhammer40k The little plate that goes up to the War Dog’s waist is a TOE PLATE for the Titan.
@warhammer40k @3dprinting
I should be able to start posing the legs this week, then coming up with a plan for the base. In the meantime enjoy this picture of how massive the armor plates are.
@DanfothLaertes @warhammer40k
Thanks! I may smash it a bit more, but I don’t want to take it too far.
@RightHandOfIkaros
The size of the foot is making that difficult, so I pivoted to just “general crushiness” but I still want it to visually translate.
@RightHandOfIkaros
These are getting crushed under a titan’s foot as it steps on them, thus the sledgehammer to simulate weight at scale. I just can’t decide if they need to be more crushed, or if this reads as “just stepping on to”.
@OdinBuilt
Can’t properly call yourself a Khorne devotee without a suitable offering of skulls.
