Receiving $2.4 billion is nice. But not if you had to pay $1265 billion (market cap) for the privilege.
Alright. Your messages sounded a bit different to me at first. You can certainly gamble with stocks. But you can also invest more or less safely.
Early investors geht stocks. And they can even sell them before the company goes public (if it ever does). The IPO or direct listing or whatever process is chosen, brings the stocks to an open exchange. And a company usually issues new stocks during an IPO and can issue new shares at any time.
The fact that IPOs are overpriced and kinda shady is true, but that’s one of those problems I meant, which are not explicitly due to the existence of stocks.
No, it’s not gambling. It’s people coming together in order to build something. And a place where people can sell their stocks is a stock market.
There are many problems in this world. But there existence of stocks and the fact that they can be traded is not one of them.
That doesn’t make any sense. That way you could only buy stocks and never sell them. Then what’s the point of investing? Also you couldn’t just leave the company behind if you stopped believing in it and its leadership.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ll have a look at them. Unfortunately none of them seem all that good. Spotify ist the only one that has a Linux app. Tide has a third party app, which is just the website inside electron. Even the Spotify app is just electron. I find it extremely shitty that these companies don’t even bother publishing electron apps. The ratings on the play store are also mostly bad. But I have to investigate that.
Which music streaming service do you recommend? (honest question)
This is probably the worst thing Trump has done so far. This 15% minimum tax deal was way too little, but still one of the best things that happened in the last few years. Now we are back in a race to the bottom. Only the rich will win.
It sounds like standard demented Trump. Musk -> Technology -> Computers -> Voting Machines -> Hey, everybody remember, how I won the election?!
Hoping for D, but betting on A.
You are both right. Trump is the distraction and incapable of working on an agenda. He needs the people in the background. But he is capable of understanding what he is doing. And he likes it.
I don’t know if these anti Nazi laws have ever been enforced in a rigorous manner. And most politicians are too afraid of doing it because the Nazis have growing support by the people. I’m pretty sure they could do more to fight the afd legally. But then again, they could also do more to satisfy voters, so they don’t vote for extremist. Both is never going to happen.
Es geht um die letzten Jahre.
Wayne…
Ok. So we can start the next year with some optimism.
Thanks for your reply. That’s a really bad design.
Btw.
In January 2024, David Rozado, an associate professor in computational science at New Zealand’s Otago Polytechnic, published a study that found: “Wikipedia was more likely to portray right-leaning figures negatively than their left-leaning counterparts.”
The real question is not whether Wikipedia is biased, but whether it’s fair. In politics not everybody is equally right. And there are some real shit heads on the right. In other words Elon Musk is not entitled to a positive Wikipedia page.
The reaction to this completely neutral article says it all. Right-wing snowflakes gonna ❄️.
Edit: Or not… see @ChairmanMeow’s response.
