are you going to upstream patches?
https://lore.kernel.org/all/?q=jorijnvdgraaf%40catcrafts.net
Very much in progress!
Technically i have a blog, but it’s pretty much dead, my posts here are my blog pretty much.

I think it’s fairly up to date with what you get with default pmos, like the fp6 page is very outdated if you include my patches, but for default it is accurate.

I may be very biased but i would recommend postmarketos

i think it’s going to take a while, pmOS Edge as time of writing is still at 7.0.8, the first of my kernel patches will arrive in 7.3. the rest will probably take longer.
when imsd will land i have no idea as its not a patch but a new package.
i’m making a shell script that will make the installation as easy as possible.

When trying to view your video it says “No video with supported format and MIME type found” and downloading its 0B?
Ive done my best to replicate it from your text description:

Technically, that’d also make the Fairphone 6 having two official Linux Kernel Maintainers…right?
Not really, there is not really and official linux kernel maintainer for specifically the FP6, Luca maintains the FP6 kernel but does so out of tree.
With the patch series i mentioned is pure about the audio, so for any device using that audio.

I can’t knock this if you see this as a business opportunity or a means to support your work on open source
I don’t intend to run it as a profit making business, i do say my dream would be able to quit my job and do open source full time, sadly that does require money since i need to eat. So i would like to make as little profit as possible but enough that i can pay myself a living wage.
but my impression is that over time these patches will be upstreamed and the installation will be simple(ish?)
Ofcourse! This is still happening, this would be for the people that just want it out of the box or could otherwise not purchase one.

Got it, thank you.
I will try to add that

Currently that does nothing im afraid.
If I understand correctly on the top bar it would for example start on wifi, announce wifi, then on a flick to the right it will select and announce the mobile data?
Is the flick in the center of the screen edge to edge or from the element?
Im not sure if plasma-mobile has a concept of focus like desktop has, if it does this should be a relatively easy addition.

For whatever reason the video did not attach, give me a minute please to fix it.
The lemmy upload strangely did not work, so i used catbox.moe instead, does this work for everyone now?

Please only upvote this comment if you would be interested in purchasing an fp6 with pmos and patches preinstalled

If it’s cheaper to get it via clove UK then you should do that.
I was thinking of selling them on my website, since you were planning to pay with crypto anyway I wanted to support that on my website as a payment method.

Honestly if there is demand, which judging from the comments here there is. I might start selling them with pmos and prepatched so they work out of the box.
I can buy the phones here in the Netherlands for €395 currently, tax and shipping and stuff does still need to be added to that.
Would that be interesting for you?
I would rather not want to charge a markup as that goes against my values but I would like to have some compensation for my time doing these as this is a per unit time cost instead of a one time cost as with software.
As a potential customer would you agree more with a small markup (think like €15 maybe) or an optional donation?

Not yet, for development I have to completely wipe it regularly which makes having all my data on there a bit inconvenient.
Once I’m done with the hardware development I do plan on using it as my main phone, cause why go trough all this trouble otherwise?
Battery life is fine enough, lasts about a day with my current, for example I turn wifi power saving and suspend off cause otherwise my ssh drops if i turn off the screen for long time, I made a somewhat detailed power analysis in my first post here.
Calls are dependable, haven’t tested SMS yet.
The only thing about calls is that imsd currently doesn’t support emergency calls which I do plan on adding in the future, but testing it is a crime, so I need to figure that out.

I know, that’s why I asked how would it be build under anarchism, not under anti-capitalism.
My question was really how could something as logistically complex as a semiconductor fab be build without some organization to coordinate it.
But as @BeatL@pawb.social said if anarchism = no unjust hierarchy then that is no problem. As there is still a organization coordinating things just not an unjust one?
I admit I’m not very knowledgeable about anarchism.
I don’t really associate anarchism with the global supply chains necessary to build and run a semiconductor fab. But I suppose I am mistaken then?

They do realize we could just make our own electronics right?
Genuine question: how would a semiconductor fab be build in anarchist ideologies?
Do people actually do this serial distro hopping? When such a meme is posted even now most people say they switched only a few times at most
Sure there probably is a minimum somewhere, but most people are far above that minimum.
