Primaries. There are Dem candidates here and there who are progressive and don’t take AIPAC money.

No sympathy for the ones who mocked a $15 minimum wage or who voted to slash “entitlements.”

Tbh it might not even be intended to work but rather to allow defense contractors to pocket billions for drawing up designs for the project going nowhere.

I got a disgustingly high offer for West Texas but I’d kms if I had to live there.

We have given up a lot to baby the American auto industry. Our health is poorer due to non-walkable cities and the stress of commuting. Our highways tore through a lot of minority communities. Our carbon footprint is higher than it could be. We can’t even have cheaper EVs.

The other transforms these societal demands in woke-liberalism, erasing the class struggle component of feminism, anti-lgbtphobia, anti-rascism. Rendering these fights too individualized and inconsequential.
Which is still not the same level of existential threat as forcing women to die of easily treatable obstetric issues or giving paramilitary thugs a budget bloated enough to be a top 13 military by funding carte blanche to execute or disappear protestors/POC/people with accents. Just because neither party is leftist (or ideal) does not mean they are the same.

HOWEVER, I’m deliberately changing it to mean there isn’t even a simulacrum of difference between Democrats and Republicans
I will grant you that both parties serve monied interests and share a lot of the same agenda. However, one party has been working for generations to roll back rights for women, POC, LGBTQIA+ to the 1950s.

Don’t get me wrong, it goes way back. Operation Condor. My Lai Massacre. Iran Contra. etc etc. I singled out Trump because his brazeness, stupidity and odiousness is so hard to miss.

You know, we’re propagandized to see the poor as leeches but these billionaire broligarchs are the true leeches. They’ll steal your water and hop on your electrical grid and push the limit on what they can get away with… while lobbying for the avg Joe/Jane to subsidize them.

Thinking the US is the one stinking up the world is just ill informed
You think Trump has been busy making the world a better place?

Not a lawyer, but this sounds antitrust here in the States too.

Someone once analyzed web based recapatcha. Their conclusion was, G isn’t trying to figure out whether you are human. It’s trying to figure out WHICH human you are. It’s identity resolution, not bot detection. If it can’t get a high enough confidence estimate, you get denied. Sometimes with infinite captchas.
I’d be interested in reading/watching if you can recall the source.

They want their quick fix of dopamine and damned be the minor inconvenience of possibly interacting with a bot. Reddit still has some value in that it has active niches or hobbyist subs. I find I still pop in for book/movie/tech recommendations.

Yep and most of them couldn’t be any more obvious with their agenda pushing. It surprises me though that Reddit lacks exposees into the bots and it’s the only major social media without one (to my knowledge) while we have Cambridge Analytica for FB, foreign bot farms and dumbasses getting paid to ragebait on X, etc.

Sec Brainworm was asked about that quote, swore up and down he never said it then eventually said he no longer stands by that.

His “concepts of a plan” sound bite would have sunk any other candidate in US political history/

Only when a Dem is in office and/or someone suggests spending money on things besides bombing brown people.

They refuse to let people have access to anything affordable.

“We all understand that with the economy the way it is in the United States that people are looking for cheaper cars,” Slotkin said. “People are really, really pressed right now from every direction, and the one thing that had come down in price over the past year was gas, and now that’s spiked up because of the war.”
“But as leaders, we have a responsibility to say, ‘Look, this is a driving surveillance package, it’s like TikTok on wheels,” she added. “We all understand the price constraints, but we have a responsibility to protect people’s security.”
I couldn’t find anything about Slotkin criticizing the plan to roll out spyware in American made cars though. How strange.
This took place in Tennessee, the state building a trans registry and also eliminated its sole black representative in the House. I will not weep for the taxpayer here though the sheriff should also be on the hook.
