I read it as “looser restrictions on cannibals” due to bad eyesight, and laughed out loud figuring it was a typo before I saw the joint picture.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The US Department of Health and Human Services has called on the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to loosen federal rules on cannabis.

Cannabis is currently classified as a schedule 1 drug under the Controlled Substances Act, meaning it has no medical use and a high chance of abuse.

Last year, President Joe Biden asked his attorney general and health secretary to oversee a review on whether cannabis should be listed as a less serious drug.

“As part of this process, HHS conducted a scientific and medical evaluation for consideration by DEA,” the agency said in a statement.

Some advocates have pushed the administration to de-schedule the drug, meaning repeal it from the Controlled Substances Act and regulate it in the same way as alcohol or tobacco.

Currently, most marijuana businesses in the US are forced to operate in cash, due to tax laws banning banks from handling money generated from certain drug sales.

I’m in Canada, where the bless-ed weed has been legal, federally, for five years. Please do it, USians! We need research done on the myriad of benefits medicinal marijuana has to offer.

And we need research for any detrimental effects as well. We need to know where the benefit ends and the harm starts.

It is nice having a more personal freedom in what I choose to do in my spare time.

Also now I don’t need to smoke I can just have gummies occasionally.
