This is less embarrassing than getting carded for non-alcoholic beer. Yes, I am old enough to be an alcoholic, thanks.
The reason for that that I was told when I worked retail was that they have to make the beer with alcohol then remove the alcohol so it’s possible for trace amounts to remain
This situation can be avoided by buying your anti-diarrheals before you need them during a regular shopping day. They are very useful for hiking, and they should be in your arsenal already.
Luckily for that person, retail workers lost their ability to care long ago.
