Also, why does this very green and EXTREMELY 90s looking Meryl have some kind of Iron Age shortsword on her belt?
I have to know if this magazine was around for MGS2- their version of Raiden must have been transcendent. They would’ve probably drawn him to look like Dolph Lundgren as He-Man

I just chortled at this goofy magazine cover illustration but apparently someone at Konami liked it enough that it was actually used as the cover for the manual of MGS: Integral in Japan
These were literally drawn by a comic book artist. Joe Madureira. He worked on Uncanny X-Men and he’s also worked in video game development. He helped with the designs for Darksiders
Now these covers are kind of goofy, but they’re also pretty cool. The guy’s a talented artist. He’s just infused with the essence of the '90s
Yeah, from what I read it looks like they hired actual comic book artists to draw each of these covers, and not like, the editor’s nephew like I had assumed
