It’s a paperback copy of Clive Cussler’s Pacific Vortex, and earlier entry in the Dirk Pitt series. It must have fallen down there years ago.

I collected Cussler books as a teenager, I’ve read many of them, a few of them more than once.
Same here. I recently discovered a box of my old books that contained a bunch. Unfortunately it must have been too damp at some point, or maybe it’s just their age and the number of times I read them, and they’re falling apart
I’m pretty sure Dirk Pitt punches the bad guy while wearing an orange faced Doxa dive watch.
Only book I ever found under a bed was a penthouse book, which I decided to throw away (owner of the book was not around)
If you don’t need it, stop by a second-hand bookstore! You can probably trade it for something you’ll enjoy. I just got an awesome two book set of the Count of Monte Cristo
