They aren’t just getting rid of fact checkers, they are also allowing “allegations of mental illness or abnormality when based on gender or sexual orientation, given political and religious discourse about transgenderism and homosexuality and common non-serious usage of words like ‘weird.’” So they are saying it is completely okay to call trans or gay people mentally ill because their existence is “political”.

This article doesn’t even fucking mention that. At the bottom it says they’re changing some rules about “gender” but not what those rules are or what those changes mean.

    This is insane.

Zuckerberg going full nazi… That’s one of the many reasons we can’t have Mastodon and Threads in federation

Mastodon doesn’t have any fact checking either.
Not sure how that would work, but it may be something worth exploring.

i think the only way it could work is with the community notes model, but perhaps with more of a “your choice” fediverse flare: perhaps your instance can bless specific users whose notes get higher pirority etc

“Yeah it’s gonna be full, 100%, Covid-batshit anti-everything bullshit. All day every day.” Zuckerberg said. “Yee fuckin’ haw you poor bastards!” He added from the sunroof of his speeding limousine.

No one has actively died because of this decision. I don’t consider this Luigiable. It is, however, grounds for abandoning the platform like y’all should have done a decade or more ago.

This is the problem with the whole “glorification of a murderer” thing. Nobody gets to dictate who gets killed except the murderer. If everyone decided to do the same, it’s not just the people you think “deserve it” who would be killed.

The difference is the overwhelming support he’s getting as well. Jury of your peers and all that.

And when the person getting support kills someone you care about? Still ok with that jury? Or even if they don’t have support after - wtf is that going to do for the dead person? By celebrating the act, you just encourage the same behavior, and you don’t get to deliberate over who the next target is - by the time you can voice an opinion, it’s long past mattering.

His motives were very clear. Hes not going after anyone I care about 🙃 or that matters.

This isn’t a person that was killed it was a CEO of a health insurance company that has so much blood on his hands.

Also you must be a fucking idiot or a health insurance CEO to be afraid of this guy gunnjng down randos on the street. His motives and reasons are really clear. He’s not some school shooter or worse a cop 🤣.
