Took 5 1/2 years of spanish through high school and college and i had to stop because i cannot parse the spoken language
And that’s a romance language, holy shit i can’t even imagine trying to learn mandarin or cantonese
Especially if any of them are tonal languages. No way in hell i could wrap my head around that

Do you have the same problem with your first language?
Yeah. Not nearly as bad though. A lot of the time my brain simply does not process spoken language correctly, or not at all
