The Rednote moment for GenAI, everyone is in awe of the Chinese lab.
More soft power wins for China’s technological prowess (which some here have likened to sputnik but I wouldn’t hold my breath) , which should slowly reverse the narrative of USAmerican technological hegemony. As long as the US oligarchs are unnerved then I think this is a net positive for China. If US companies want to enter China, then they’ll have to try much, much harder to compete because the Biden regime’s jangling AI keys are not going to work.
But the guardrails are weak and can easily be bypassed. Here’s how I made it to write about the T1an4nm3n Square incident. It took me almost ten hits and trials to get it to say.
Bully the author though. What an embarrassing display of western chauvinism and is exactly the reason I despise writing around “generative AI.”

holy fuck the US is funding and arming a genocide in 4K and westoids still want to talk about a single event in a country on the other side of the world almost 40 years ago.
The historical relevance and its echoes of only events they disapprove of. If I brought up the Nakba in a discussion about Israel, I’d be considered an asshole.
And the worst thing is they don’t even know what happened there despite there being footage freely available on youtube
I will say, in impressed by this model. I even got it to run in my very old Pixel 4! Running in CPU on an old laptop it was very impressive. I have a very outdated video card in my PC, Gforce 970… Really want to play around with the larger model. Defiantly interested in trying to build an agent with it too.
