Because they were like, “We’re okay with you holding over the immigration status, holding that over our workers head so we can pay them sub-minimum wage and potentially abuse them. But you’re going to come after us if we hire undocumented people?” And then quickly the Republicans in Florida just scuttled that part of what they were trying to do.
