Coles, Woolworths, Costco and Kmart have all backed an application to scrap overtime and penalty rates. Peter Dutton has consistently voted to get rid of Sunday and public holidays penalty rates. The opposition are trying to sneak this in through the back door while we’re all distracted. A Liberal/National party government is NO FRIEND to the average Australian worker. Don’t let them fool you, speak up, post about this, join your union! #union #auspol #coles #woolworths #kmart #costco

I’m more amazed by Woolworths still being in the a thing! They had the weirdest lunch counter when I was a kid.

Woolworths in Australia has no relation to the US chain, they just share a name.

I meant Canada, where they closed in the 80’s. No idea of the heritage.

Apparently the Canadian one was a subsidiary of the US one: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/F._W._Woolworth_Company

I’ve never even seen a Woolworths.

I’m old and yet I barely remember. They were the first big chain to go in Canada. Quickly followed by Simpson’s.
