You know what, that’s a fair point. I think some people literally haven’t encountered plural people or DID or systems, the terminology is mostly online (because of the rarity of the condition not any other reason) and people’s experience with it is probably Hollywood stuff like Me, Myself, and Irene
In 2019, former GDQ speedrunners protomagicalgirl came out as plural on HBomber’s stream and got her life ruined by KiwiFarms. Plurality is suppressed, not rare by nature.
Yeah that’s a good point. Even in the medical community there remains debate about if it exists at all (in contrast to the people who are living right now with multiplicity, self reported or not)
Medical community debates mode of existence that contradicts their model of the mind conveniently in alignment with extant power structures, where have I heard this before.
