These numbers seem optimistic: UEA members over the last 100 years (Universal Esperanto Association) Number of participants in popular Esperanto meetings in Germany: Also according to Duolingo there are 1.2million people learning Esperanto, which is up from 1million in 2018. Given these things the vibe I get is that it is a growing language worthy of some optimism.
