Also what’s a good way to look at twitter if you don’t have X, the everything app
I thought you weren’t supposed to promote other social media on xitter? Yet here’s Elon, doing just that.
You can use xcancel.com, that’s about it I think
Use the above to replace the “x” in “x.com”
Nitter.net works again too
in my experience its the most reliably up out of all the alt frontends and as stated you only need to change the domain to xcancel and the rest of the link remains the same
I’ve been advised that it is shopped, too ignorant to catch it myself
I was not able to find it on X, The everything app. I was able to find tickets to the super bowl, list an ad, and enter the metaverse though.
LibRedirect is a browser extension for FireFox and Chromium browsers that will automatically redirect your browser to a privacy front end for many different social media services. It can be used to redirect Twitter/X links to a portal like xcancel.com
When I first installed LibRedirect, Twitter wasn’t enabled by default, so here are some instructions for doing so. Once you’ve installed the extension into your browser, select its icon:
Then select the Settings gear at the bottom. Then select Services from the menu at the top. From the Service drop-down, select Twitter. Select the Enable and Show in popup options. Then find the Add your favorite instances section, and in the text box put
https://xcancel.com/
. The settings save automatically. Now when you go to a x/twitter URL, the extension will redirect the URL to
xcancel.com
.LibRedirect also works on FireFox for Android.
Shit is trash and every redirect points to broken instances or instanced that have been limited or something
I only use it to redirect to xcancel.com. As long as you have viable instances to redirect to, then it works fine.
Do the ppl making it not manage the redirected-to instance regularly? Should i babysit the extension to get actual value atm?
tux icon upset about tweaking software
Id rather not have the shipped iteration just be malfunctioning out of box
Whether instances work is something that changes too frequently to make the software responsible for closely tracking that information. If you update them when something is broken, you will end up with a decent setup.
Yea i guess your right, i was just angry cus its a great concept and i wouldve liked it to ‘just werk’ all while knowing things are hardly ever that easy😅
I don’t know that they manage the redirected lists, or if they just have defaults that they don’t update. I disabled every redirect except for Twitter, and I only have xcancle.com as an option for redirection. I’ve had a pretty shit experience with many of the other services and their privacy front ends. If I find an instance that works for a site I feel the need to redirect, I’ll manually curate that services list. So far, xcancel is the only one I’ve gotten value out of. The twitter timeline of a profile is not chronological, and on xcancel it is. You can’t view additional replies at times on single threads, but you can on xcancel. Most other services are more aggressive with VPN’d or guest viewing. Instagram will not load if you’re on a known VPN for example. Reddit will also block you if you’re on a VPN.
A nitter instance would work just fine but you should limit your xhit consumption
x is just going to be the most expensive personal phpbb of all time by the end of this
X the 4chan app
so he openly wants to make a far right echo chamber…
