Nobody’s law requires it except the UK. But I’m pretty sure even the Americans have fuses on every outlet in their fusebox, so even a suicide cord like this won’t burn your house down.
It will, however, wreck your generator when the power comes back on. It will also electrocute you if you grab it while plugged in.
The UK only has fuses in the first place because they use ring circuits with a much higher current limit in the fuse box, to save on copper in the walls.
