The last couple of touchdowns the chiefs got happened after the eagles clearly stopped trying hard

At that point it was mathematically impossible for them to come back.

It was 40-6 by the middle of the 3rd.

Yep, 14 points in garbage time, up by 4 possessions. Felt like putting Kenny Pickett in the game was a tad disrespectful, and as an Eagles fan, I loved it.

“Superbowl champion Kenny Pickett secures victory over Chiefs, defeating Mahomes in final minutes of play” - a technically accurate headline

Garbage time stats made this game look less of a blowout than it really was. Chiefs could not do anything vs that eagles defense.

It feels like they sold out to stop him, and with Hurts being able to scramble or the WRs winning 1v1s, the Chiefs D just couldn’t match up. It’s not like the Eagles have crazy WR talent either, but the pass rush wasn’t able to pressure Hurts enough

The eagles do have crazy WR talent. Smith and Brown each would be the best receiver on 18 other teams, and Dotson is ridiculously good for a third option. Now, Brown’s been hurt, but it didn’t seem to bother him tonight. Goedert was also injured, but when healthy he’s a top ten TE.

I guess the focus was more on Saquon over the season but I didn’t think the passing game was necessarily fantastic. They played out of their mind in the sb for sure, but leading up to it it was a Saquon show

Sure, because he’s Saquon, and he’s finally running behind a competent offensive line with a mobile qb who is a threat to go long. It was an ideal situation for him to explode and show the world what he can do. He could take it to the house from anywhere on the field, which is why KC stacked 7 or 8 in the box every play. Hurts demonstrated last night why none of the other teams the Eagles faced thought that would work.

That Eagles D-Line was a bunch of bullies, man. The eagles were consistently leaving 7 men in coverage like they were the late 60s Vikings. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It was like “Yeah Mahomes keeps throwing picks, he’s running for his goddamn life out there and has no one to throw it to since he only has 5 targets and all of them are somehow triple covered”

The story only Philly fans will remember is the Eagles Secondary. They have been lockdown this year, forcing QBs to hold or check down, making the phenomenal four man rush look even better. They didn’t get any press or accolades because they didn’t get a lot of interceptions, and so much attention (deservedly) goes to the linemen.

Pretty tame as far as I know. I’m a boring suburbanite, so I don’t have any first-hand insight about the state of the city. I assume whatever happened, it will be blown out of proportion by the news in other cities.

I haven’t been following football for a while, but even I knew how reknowned the Chiefs were, not only in this season but the past few seasons as well. Was anyone expecting an outcome like this?

Chiefs have been over hyped all season. This team isn’t as good as previous SB winners. Most of their games were close 1-score wins, and they developed a reputation for some questionable calls assisting them.

None of that happened tonight, and they got exposed by the Eagles.

Chiefs lost a lot of talent last year and had to patch in gaps.

Eagles went from a really bad defense to #1 this year.
