      Nearly anyone can buy a star. They’re literally for sale. There’s a “nomination” process, but that’s essentially just making sure they can justify the “fame” of whoever you’re spending $75k to get a concrete square dedicated to. It goes to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, not any sort of industry group. It’s the political group responsible for the area businesses.
