Nice to see you lads
Welcome comrade! It’s nice to see someone from Occupied Korea join us.
How do you view the wave of reactionary anti-women fascism sweeping south korea right now?
How do you feel about the beauty standards?
My friend recently visited South Korea - she was bounced back from several nightclubs for looking ‘too old’ - she’s 24 years old lol - is plastic surgery the social norm for people in their early 20s in SK?
It’s a classical tactic of the bourgeoisie in my opinion… The comprador, the monopoly capital, and the mass media provokes the misogyny, racism, and violence against the left as always, not letting them find out who the real enemy is.
I am sorry for your friend… 😅 Never have considered the beauty standard so seriously, but true, it is too harsh… Maybe that’s why plastic surgery is so prevailing among the early 20s. People don’t take plastic surgery as a social norm, but it’s true that more than a few of South Koreans experience plastic surgery in their lives.
Are there Juche works that are not available in English that we could help translate? Also on a scale of 1-10 how much do you love Kim Il Sung - it’s a trick question, because my answer would be 11 😊
almost every works of comrade Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il is available online in English as I see, probably somewhere like marxists.org… For me, comrade Kim Il sung is a solid 10. I’d give him a 100 if I can(not that I follow his thought or anything… I love my government and capitalism I am a sound and patriotic citizen of the Republic of Korea just like you my fellow agents 😁)
If they answer this question, they will be arrested lol
How involved were leftists/communists in the several protests of the 1980s in the ROK?
It’s true that the student activists(운동권) were deeply involved in the struggle for bourgeois democracy of 80s, but they never became the majority in my opinion. I view the '87 system(the 6th republic) as a half victory, since Koreans succeeded in protecting the democratic system from the fascist regime, but they didn’t manage to go further ahead of it. Still, leftist discourses from 운동권(such as NLPDR, National Liberation-People’s Democracy Revolution) is influencing the current leftist/communist movements.
welcome…to make sure that you’re an honest south korean from the left, who is the worst chaebol in your opinion?
Samsung. It grew up to be a chaebol, merely because of the support from fascist dictators(박정희, 전두환). It still is deeply connected financially and politically with the conservative politics(박근혜, 윤석열. You can see Samsung was the one loyal patron of Park Geun-hye regime). With the wealth from the dictators and from corruption, it is still exploiting the workers. As I remember, workers’ union(삼성노조) was allowed by the company only one or two years ago.
Of course, all chaebol groups are the ones to struggle against and overthrow.
So is ROK, the republic of Chaebols?
Always has been, comrade…
hello, nice to have someone from occupied korea, hope you can provide some insights on your country.
Thanks! I hope I can bring back ‘Labour Party of South Korea(남조선로동당)’ to life once again.
Nice to meet you pal. Greetings from Colombia. Bouth the Colombian and Korean people have suffered severe represions from the imperialist and the goverment but we are still standing.
Respect, if there is one country that could benefit from workers taking control it’s South Korea.
Hi! It’s so cool to meet commies from other countries. Now that you’re here, I have some VERY important questions to ask you: What do South Koreans think of China? Do you like Buldak noodles? Can you wiggle your ears?
Hi, good to see you comrade. Most South Koreans, especially the gen Z, aren’t so favorable to China because of a strong sense that South Korea belongs to the ‘team U.S.A.’ I think of it as the effect of inveterate anti-communist education, propaganda, etc. Almost like brainwashing.
I don’t really like Buldak noodles… They’re too spicy for me… I prefer ones less spicy such as 신라면 or 육개장사발면.
I just tried wiggling my ears after reading your comment… I guess I can’t 😅
Not korean or chinese but my chinese teacher has told me tha cnetizens, especially the younger ones, constantly fight south koreans online lol. Older people apparently dont care as much
welcome!
any good marxist movies from korea?
I think there any communist party is prohibited
True, sadly… There are plenty of socialist-communist organisations though. I am a member of one of those.
Not Marxist but Snowpiercer and Parasite are both anti-Capitalist. Squid Game is a TV that is anti-Capitalist.
Welcome!
I love Korean food. We will have to discuss cooking sometime!
Welcome 🤗
Hey there, welcome aboard!
Welcome! There’s even a few lasses here too. 🙂
